The flight had been too chaotic. Johnny was feeling nauseous half the time, forcing him to leave to the bathroom several times in case he vomited. After flying with Bonanza Airlines, we stopped in Chicago. We reach the airport in Chicago after walking around in our spare time we had.

The second flight was more comfortable, but that did not stop a certain someone from feeling sick. My dad, on the other hand, fell asleep with a green neck pillow that felt like velvet. I was awake during the whole flight, not even catching a blink of sleep.

We then stopped at my least favorite area, Kentucky. It was my least favorite since it reminded me of Margret.

She lived there since she was six, but then moved when she was middle-aged. Which is when I met her when she moved to LA.

We finally arrived in Nashville after our stop in Kentucky. We had to drive about three or more hours to Memphis by car. Johnny wasn't waking up anytime soon since he was feeling sick half the time. After finding our destination, we arrived at the police station where my dad and the rest of his team will be working at. Each officer took the key to their apartment room.

"What is this for?" Johnny questioned the officers as he slicked his hair back.

"Don't question us officers, pretty boy!" An officer replied, mimicking him as he brushed his hair back.

"These keys are for our apartment, Johnny." Dad chuckled at Johnny stupidity.

We arrived inside the apartment and took a look around. There were two rooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchen that was connected to a living room. My dad unpacked his important belongings from his bags and placed them in his emergency police pouch. He said his goodbyes and left for his job at the station. Johnny and I stayed home since there was nothing left to do.

"Let's watch something." He turned on the tv and sat on the red leather couch with me. I crossed my legs and grabbed a newspaper by the table, picking it up to read. Johnny stuck a toothpick out of his mouth while he focused on the tv show that was playing.

"Hey, we should find something to do, Johnny." I stated while my eyes were still glued to the boring article.

"Like what?" He continued staring ahead with his fiddling toothpick.

"I'll look and see," I replied, searching through the boring papers. Everything here seemed pretty boring if you asked me. No offense to the people, but we don't know anyone or anything around here. How would we enjoy ourselves?

"Besides, if you wanna go out I'll have to stick by your side." Johnny huffed, closing the tv.

"What do you mean?" I cocked my head at his statement.

"We've both never been in this town. I can't leave you alone or else your dad would kill us both." He turned, staring me in the eyes.

"You do realize I go out and come back just fine. I appreciate the fact that you care, but I don't need a guardian all the time." At first, I thought he was kidding so I awkwardly smiled. Turned out he wasn't joking.

"Well, you know how strict he is, Lana..." He mumbled, spitting out the toothpick. He was serious.

"I understand that, but you don't always have to have your eye on me. We're both almost the same age, after all." I turned my full body towards him, placing the newspaper on the table in front of us.

"I'm not keeping an eye on you. I'm looking out for you since it's the right thing to do...You know how I am. Things change people." Johnny crossed his arms, face staring to the ground.

"I understand what happened to you was horrible, but I'm not any different." I immediately shot back my reply, slightly glaring at him.

"That's why I gotta watch you!" Johnny raised his voice, which was very rare to hear.

"Johnny, I'll be fine. I get it you're scared because of what happened to your mom years ago.. but I'll be okay."
