It was 10:45 in the morning. My eye was blinded by the morning light as I could feel the heavy warmth of the sun hitting my face drain within a few seconds. My head was pounding and every muscle in my body was begging me to stay laying on the cold, dented floor. I firmly blinked in confusion, groggily running a hand through my black hair. I slowly sat up, attempting to recollect the events prior to me awakening on some stranger's cold floor. My mind was flowing with every negative possibility that could have happened to me, was I being held captive? Not quite, the room I was in looked too welcoming for a criminal to own.

That thought didn't linger for too long, as the sudden vile, putrid stench of alcohol and marijuana infiltrated my nostrils. My stomach refused to cooperate and dropped immediately as I uncontrollably ran to the nearest sink I could find. I stepped over countless plastic cups. The sound of glass bottles rolling over around the floor due to the impact of my swift steps rang in my ears. Ah, I remember now. I wasn't in some ill-intentioned person's house being held captive. I was in my dorm-mate's condo and I guess I'm recovering from what seems to be an appalling hangover. As I let out from whatever remained in my stomach last night unto the kitchen sink, I made my way to the bathroom.

My surroundings were quite bare in terms of human population. The desolation from the lack of people in the room ambled in the atmosphere followed by the scent of sweat and sex. Well, not from me anyways. I opened Vince's bathroom door who now I was starting to realize, was nowhere to be found, despite it being his condo. Perhaps he was in his room with some hot campus chick he managed to hit it off with. Vince hitting it off with a girl? Doesn't seem out of the ordinary, I thought to myself. I turned on the sink, allowing for the cold, transparent liquid to run through my hands like minimal serene currents. I splashed the crisp fluid onto my face in an effort to wake myself up. While doing so, I was able to recall the conversation I had with Vince the day before the party.

"No way you're leaving this early, Sunny. Who the hell am I going to room with now? I'm seriously going to look stupid alone in the gym without you man."
Vince whined.

"Well for starters, you're obviously going to have a new dorm-mate. Also just because I'm getting an apartment doesn't mean we can't hang out like we used to. It's not like I'm moving countries you know."
I said calmly, it was true though. I was only moving to be a few blocks away from the campus.

"Look at you... All grown Sunny, striving to be independent..."
He cooed teasingly, as he jokingly slapped the back of my head.

"No but for real dude, the least you could've done was remind me at least a week before. That was kind of mean."
Said Vince, and this time for once in his life, he seemed genuine. Honestly Vince was right. I should've at least reminded him earlier. However, with finals literally and figuratively beating me to a pulp, I guess it slipped my mind for the past few weeks before break. I could only sigh and solemnly nod guiltily. Although, this situation seemed all too familiar for my liking. Where have I seen this before...

"Hey, it's all good, I get it I guess." He says , seemingly taking notice of my regretful face.
"Let's just live it up until then alright? We'll party tomorrow at my aunt's condo on the weekend. She's gone to Australia for the summer so it'll be dope. Maybe you can even catch yourself a hookup before you leave." He teased reassuringly, as he laughed. Again, I could only nod and roll my eyes.
