Hongjoong shuddered as he signed his name on the sheet of paper. He never truly believed in contracts. Despised them actually. They were just random sheets of paper that you sign away as a part of your life. He sighed as he placed the pen down on the table and slid the paper over to Seonghwa. He took the paper and looked at the signature, smiling as he placed the paper back into this file. "Wonderful. You are free to go." Seonghwa said as he shuffled through papers on his desk.
Hongjoong stayed seated shyly, watching Seonghwa. Shit, he's so good looking, he thought as a light blush crept onto his cheeks. Seonghwa side-eyed Hongjoong and saw him still sitting there. "Do you need something? I said you're free to go." Seonghwa cocked his head towards the door, gesturing for Hongjoong to get out.
And so Hongjoong stood up from his seat and bowed to the man across the table who had stopped looking at him and gone back to his work. Hongjoong retreated out of the miserable study and tiredly made his way back to his own room. He decided to take a shower and put on some clean clothes, dressing himself in something a little more appropriate seeing as he had shown up in jeans and a sweater.
He rummaged through his suitcase, looking for something appropriate, yet the only things he had were some of his reformed designs he had made over the years. Everything from hats with studs to jean jackets with bulky lettering and funny doodles. After enough searching, he was surprised to see a dress shirt and slacks in his suitcase, probably Mingi's that he had once borrowed for a job interview and forgotten to give back. He dressed himself and even bothered to style his hair neatly.
He shut his door behind him as he walked out into the hallway. He passed by the study again and saw the door closed and the sound of papers shuffling and frustrated grunts. He found Rowoon and a few other people in the kitchen. Hongjoong had yet to explore this side of the mansion and took in the sight of the enormous kitchen, lined with dark oak cabinets and marble benchtops. Rowoon laid out four petite teacups, one for each of them and poured something that looked like tea. "Oh, hi Hongjoong. Would you like some tea?" Rowoon offered and Hongjoong nodded his head with a smile.
He joined them on one of the bar stools in front of the island bench, bowing his head to the other people at the table. Next to him sat a young woman, in her late twenties, early thirties perhaps. "Moonbyul, nice to meet you." She stretched her hand out and Hongjoong shook it, bowing his head slightly. He sipped his tea slowly and got to know Seonghwa's other employees.
The sun was setting and Hongjoong was still in the kitchen. "And then she was just like 'sorry I thought you were someone else'." Taehyung, the housekeeper said through chuckles and everyone laughed along. Hongjoong found himself enjoying the presence of the other people in this house. They were enjoying their afternoon tea when footsteps could be heard on the marble floor of the kitchen. A husky voice cleared its throat and Hongjoong turned around. Seonghwa stood tall, decked out in his full suit, tapping his black leather shoe on the marble tile with his arms crossed over his chest.
He dropped his arms to his side and approached Hongjoong at the island bench. "I need to go out." Seonghwa simply said, tossing Hongjoong a fancy looking car key.
"So? Why do I need to come?" Hongjoong quickly dropped his teacup and grabbed the expensive looking car key. Seonghwa looked away and crossed his arms once again as he let out a scoff. "Well I guess if you don't want to I can call my father and cancel your college tuition."
Hongjoong shot up from his seat on the island bench as he twirled the car keys on his finger before throwing it up in the air and catching back in his palm. "Let's go." He said with a fake smile and an exaggerated eye smile. He began walking away towards the entrance of the mansion without looking back.
Seonghwa whipped his head back to the rest of his employees. "Get back to work. Or would you also like an angry phone call from my father?" He said as he narrowed his eyes at his workers. They scatter back to work with a bow after clearing away their teacups.
Seonghwa quickly jogged to catch up with the red haired male who was already waiting for him in the foyer. Said male followed Seonghwa to the garage where once the door was open and letting in enough light, Hongjoong could properly take in the sight. It was a massive room, lined with seven cars. Seven! Hongjoong stood, mouth agape as Seonghwa walked over to his black.. Lamborghini... What the hell? Hongjoong cursed in his thoughts.
"Hurry up. I really don't have all day." Seonghwa said as he got into the driver's seat of his expensive car. Hongjoong let out a sigh of relief. At least he didn't have to drive that expensive thing. Hongjoong quickly jogged over to the sleek black vehicle and hopped in the passenger side. Seonghwa pulls out of the garage, out of the circle drive and out of the gate. They drove in silence until they reached the big city and Seonghwa pulled up to a mall.
Walking along the hallways of the mall, Hongjoong couldn't help but stare into the stores they passed. Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, and so much more. Hongjoong could only dream about shopping at such stores. Seonghwa walked into a fancy suit store and began browsing the many suits.
"I'm meeting with a friend tomorrow. I need a new suit. Something different yet simple." He told the fitting lady and she immediately went to work, finding a few different suits for Seonghwa to try on. Without hesitation, Seonghwa picked the checkered suit set and tried it on. "Hey, you." He called over to Hongjoong who was standing by the back wall, looking around at the many items in the store. He whipped his head towards the sound of the voice and looked Seonghwa up and down, gulping hard at the sight before him. "What do you think?" Seonghwa asked.
Hongjoong pretended to think about it for a moment but in reality he was just using that time to check the male out. Snapping back to reality, he nodded his head and gave a thumbs up as a reply. Seonghwa went back behind the curtain and changed out of the expensive suit. He handed it to the lady with a smile, "I'll take this one, thanks love." He thanked with a subtle smile and a wink at the end.
Hongjoong rolled his eyes at the flirtatious action and followed Seonghwa around the store. "Pick something you want. I'll buy it for you." Seonghwa said coldly, cocking his head towards the suits.
"I-I couldn't ask that of you- really.."
"Just do it. My dad asked me to."
Heh, of course his dad told him to. Of course he doesn't have a single, kind bone in his body. Hongjoong mentally scoffed as he looked away and rolled his eyes. Hongjoong's walked over to a rack of fancy looking ties, picking up a simple navy striped one and holding it up. "How about this?" He purposefully picked one of the cheapest items in the store and brought it to the check out.
Seonghwa pulled out his credit card and paid for the items. Two thousand dollars? For a suit and tie? Hongjoong mentally gasped as he heard the price. Seonghwa bowed politely to the workers and Hongjoong did the same before leaving the store and headed back to the car.
What a long first day.. Hongjoong thought. This was going to be a long year..
