No One's POV:

"Hey Will," Mike called out as Will was walking towards the basement door, "did Max give you her letter yet? Or Lucas I guess."

"Oh, no, neither of them handed anything to me. I'll go talk to Max about it." Will nodded towards the stairs, motioning he was going to go down the steps.

"Yeah, good idea, see you in a bit man," Mike told Will as he walked towards the kitchen.

Will opened the basement door and started to walk down the stairs, his drink in hand.

"Hey Max, Mike mentioned something about a letter?" He asked the redhead as she took one ear of her headphones off.

"That blabbermouth, but yes, Lucas has it I'll go get it from him, okay? I'll be right back." Max told Will as she stood up and walked over to Lucas and Dustin.

"Hey"

"Are you okay? Do you need something?" Lucas questioned, immediately becoming worried for her safety.

"I'm okay, I promise, I need Will's letter now too, he wants to read his." Max explained, waving her hands animatedly.

"Here," Lucas handed her the envelope, only having one remaining with him; Eleven's.

Max bit her lip as she nervously walked over to Will. Her and Will hadn't been as close per se, but she did truly appreciate the friendship the two were able to make.

"There you go, please don't be offended by anything I said, you know I'm abrasive." Max told him as he started to open the envelope.

"Should I be worried?" Will questioned as he took out the folded piece of paper.

"No? In my defence I thought I was going to...y'know...have my bones crack and I was going to die." Max shrugged nonchalantly, inwardly shuddering at the thought.

"Okay, well thank you Max." Will gave her a hug, as he smiled at her,

Will's POV:

Sitting down on the couch, I noticed Max's very neat penmanship, the one I know she used specifically for important papers.

Dear Will,

I can't believe I may not give you an official goodbye, but here is my official-unofficial goodbye.

When I first came to Hawkins, before I even met any of you, I was instantly curious on who the Zombie Boy was that I heard about in the halls.
Troy and some of his goons were talking about this person, and I was intrigued by who this person was that they claimed was dead and came back to life.

Then I met you.

You were nothing like the weird quiet kid everyone talked about. Quite the opposite really, or at least we can't get you to shut up when you start talking, and yes you may be weird, but in the best possible way.

I feel so honored that out of everyone in the party you trusted me to keep your secret. I won't say what it is incase someone sees this letter, but know that I'm here for you every step of the way. Your feelings are valid, Will, no matter who's involved.

That first night we were together on Halloween, I was a little spooked when you had your episode, but I'm so glad I was welcomed into this crazy world of yours- well kind of.

I wish I had gotten time to know you a little better other than when we snuck into the movies, you seem like a great guy. Never hold back, Will, the world deserves to know who you are.

Your favorite candy stealer,

Max.
