No One's POV:

"El? You down here?" Max asked as she walked down the stairs to the Wheeler's basement, looking for her best friend, "Dustin, have you seen El?"

"Um I think she just went in the bathroom, something about washing her hands." Dustin told her, picking up his dice to continue the game of Dungeons and Dragons.

"Thank you." Max started walking towards the bathroom door.

Knocking on it gently, as to not scare her, Max leant against the door and listened for sound from the other side.

Opening up the door, a surprised El caught an even more surprised Max as she smiled up at her.

"Hi, Max" El said, as she placed Max back up on her feet.

"Hi, I think it's time for you to read yours as well." Max told El as the two, hand-in-hand, walked towards the boys.

"Lucas, the last letter, please." Max asked as she held out your hand.

"Yup, here you go," Lucas handed her the envelope as Max snatched it and ran upstairs, El in tow.

Making their way to the Wheeler's living room, Max and El sat on the couch as Max handed El the envelope, "These were my letters in case I didn't make it, I want to be here when you read yours."

"Now?" El asked and with a quick nod from Max, she immediately started to open it.

Dear El,

When I first heard of you, I didn't believe it. I mean a girl with telekinesis? Someone who can crush and throw objects and people with her mind? That's badass.

I was super upset when we first met that you didn't shake my hand and completely brushed me aside. I was SO excited to finally meet the amazing superhero I had heard about.

Then the summer came along.

I'm so glad you grabbed my skateboard on the street that day. I don't know what would've happened if you and Mike hadn't fought.  Would we be best friends? Would we have talked at all? Would you still dislike me?

I don't want to question or think about it.

You were there for me at my weakest and strongest within the last year, and I have never been so grateful for someone like you in my life.
I never got to thank you for giving me your scrunchie, I wear it every day and I'm going to wear it tomorrow so if the inevitable happens, you will be with me.

I have something from everyone in my pocket, I have your scrunchie, an old heart keychain Lucas had given me, a token from the arcade that Will gave me, a quarter from Dustin that I never used, and from Mike, the pencil he let me keep when I didn't have one for our test in math the other day.

I can't believe I may leave this world without saying goodbye to my best friend, I'd give anything in the world to give you one last hug and to make fun of the boys in the bathroom. Or to simply just go eat some ice cream and have photoshoots at the mall. Just even to have one last sleepover would heal half of the problems I've been having.

I'll love you forever, don't forget about the girl who introduced you to all of your favorite comics. Don't let anyone ever test against your limits. Remember, stop the bleeding, clean, disinfect, and then bandage your wounds.

Love, your best friend,

Max.
