Currently I am sat on (H/N) stroking his pure white coat . My chin laid softly on his crown. I pull out a small sugar cube I swiped from the canteen earlier . "If you see something sweet gotta grab it . Ain't ya (H/N) ?" I pass the sugar cube to his mouth allowing him to eat it.
I look up noticing Levi and Eren both staring at me like some psychopath, I feel my cheeks burn , causing me to chuckle nervously "Horse likes sugar how about that?"
Just as Levi was about to respond Erwin faces the mass of soldiers "We take a new advancement on the 57th scouting operation!"
A chorus of 'Hya!' s are sounded through the city. I kick my heels into (H/N)'s white coat, making him speed up. Eren and I are at the back of the formation. The alleged safest place of the formation, so I only have a 50% chance of dying in this.
"Olouo be straight with me , do you think my friends have a shot of taking down the titans?" Eren says in his normal tone.
"So much faith there Eren! I think the titans can sense it." My voice dripping with sarcasm, earning a laugh off Olouo.
"Reaallly? I should certainly hope so, I mean what the hell are they training for?" his voice going high pitched when he first start off. "Now listen , and listen well, prepare to knock back these titans, this means the time is night to knock back these fe-." just then he bites his tongue.
I try to hold it back... I burst out in laughter tears off joy rolling down my cheeks. "That.... that .. is the best thing ever ... I just... ahhhh" struggling to speak from laughing too much.
Olouo struggle , as we suddenly speed up. I get close to my horse, allowing me to go faster. the people in front of us split. Going into the long range scouting formation.
We finally make it outside the gate. Wincing slightly at the brightness of the sun. When I finally open my eyes , the green grass! This wind flowing through my (H/C) (H/L) hair. I let out a little smile. "Don't get too comfortable Cadet (L/N)!" a cold voice mumbles his horse catching up to mine. I don't reply in awe of the beauty of what our world can actually look like one we are free!
We ride in silence for a few minutes. Thats when I notice the Red flare . This meaning titans have been sighted by the front. followed by a green flare. Change direction.
"This is bull shit." I murmur. "We are sat here doing nothing while people out there are dying." I growl.
"Save your anger for the titan Cadet." Levi hisses at me.
—Time Skip—
About half an hour passes uneventful. Thats when a green flare is shot in the sky. "Ololu pass it on." Levi orders the man.
A man rides over to Levi , "Sir message from the right. Right wing seekers have been wiped out . The early warning network is compromised. One of you will need to relay the message to the left wing."
"You hear him Petra relay the message."
"Yes sir! " she salutes before setting off.
"We could have stopped that! We could've helped them." I shout hitting the saddle roughly. "But no! We are here like cowards! Two titans hidden inside the formation." I growl . I suddenly feel a pain in the back of my head
"Tch ... brat , Erwin put us here for a reason . I trust that reason." he says to me , a slight annoyance to his voice.
Bang!
My attention is brought to the black flares that have been shot near our location.
"Abnormal?" I shout over to Levi who nods.
"Eren fire the signal." Levi instructs him a bored expression on his face.
"Yes sir!"
"This is a disgrace. No a lot of good this formation can do if the bastards can get this deep into it."
"Save your anger for the titans." I mock a slightly smirk reaching his pale lips.
The only way a abnormal get this far into the formation and not have died nor got distracted it slim. But a shifter could easily get this far in. They have the brains and speed, also if they have a goal they can easily get past the people by not killing them.
I look up from my hands noticing us entering a giant forest , full of big ass trees. Good for maneuver gear, not so good for spotting or horses. I look around us as we venture further into the forest.
"Captain Levi! Captain Levi!" Eren shouts out from the back of the group.
"What?"
"Come on sir. We are in the forest..."
"No fucking way Eren!" I snap at him
"We won't see a titan until it is right on top of us. The center rank is totally cut off. Something coming up from the right isn't it? So what are we supposed to do avoid titans or defend the wagons ?" Eren shouts out to Captain , I sigh.
"Quite whining brat. Move on from the obvious already. Neither of those is a option anymore."
"Wh-what do you mean sir?"
"Eren look around what do you see?" I growl at Eren getting annoyed at his questions.
"Take a look at the big ass trees." he doesn't even look back at Eren when he says this.
"Tons of branches safe landing and grappling places. So therefore it is perfect for 3DMG ."
"Take our advice Eren calm down and use your head. "
" Your intelligence is worth more than strength." I peer round at Eren.
I hear Ololu muttering about something. But i'm too busy listening out for anything which may seem off or abnormal titan like. I slow down while i'm listening for something.
"(Y/N) do you know what's happening?" he questions me. My reply being a simple shake of the head. "Neither does anyone else this is shifty (Y/N)." I just nod now . Please shush Eren trying to listen here . I mentally roll my eyes.
Thats when I hear it.
Thud.
Thud .
Thud.
I hear the repeated stomp of a titan. My eyes widen slowing down behind the group. All of them looking at me confused.
Zip.
Zip.
Zip.
I pull my fingers to my mouth blowing on them causing a high pitched whistle catching their attention,everyone except Levi looking back at me. I put my hand to my ear telling them to listen.
It all happens is slow-mo the Scout zipping round.
Then it appears.
Crack.
"(Y/N)! Get outta there!"
Oh hey there I update - finally! - Not my favourite but hey it's a chapter ain't I right?
