"Craig! Why the fuck am i here?! What did you do to me?! Where's Roc?!"
"Aye, calm down! You were drunk and Roc was tripping, so i brought you here," he guarded with an attitude. I ran my hand through my disorderly hair with confusion washing through me.
"Well, why didn't you just take me home?! And why are you being all lovey dovey with me?! And why the hell am i naked?!"
He sighed, "Because, unlike you, i have a brain. I wouldn't come home drunk as fuck and get caught by my parents. So be grateful that I saved your ass,"
I disregarded everything he said. "You didn't answer my other questions," please lord, don't let it be what i think it is.
"Clothes don't just magically disappear! Why else would you be naked?!" I hoped it was nothing and he was just making a scene. The thought of me and0 Craig having sex made me want to hurl. I would never.
But I might've.
"Just answer the fucking question!" I was growing impatient with him. I could tell by his expression that he didnt have the energy to continue our little feud, so he gave in and told me everything that happened last night. By the time he finished analyzing my dazed night, my eyes were widened to the point I'm sure they were gonna fall out off their sockets.
"So we didn't-?""ugh no." He confirmed and a massive amount of ease took over me. Thank. The. Lord. But, there was still one question left unanswered, "wait so, why am I naked?" He let out a soft chuckle."You thought you'd sleep better if you were bare, and I said 'alright, go ahead'. You're lucky you got a nice body, otherwise I wouldn't have approved." he smirked at me, but it quickly faded. "But we didn't do anything, I swear," his eyes showed embarrassment.
"I can't believe I'm saying this but, I believe you," he nodded stiffly and stepped back from the bed.
"Well...i guess i should get you home now, huh?" my parents are going to kill me.
i stepped out of Craig's car and slowly walked to my front porch with fear swarming through my veins. I took a quick glance at the driveway and noticed that only my dad's car was missing. Ok, maybe mom will go easy on me. i took a deep breath before unlocking the front door and slowly walking inside, closing it silently behind me. I stayed put for a second to see if i could hear any type of movement or voices. Nothing. Maybe mom didn't notice that i wasn't home. I ran as fast as i could up the stairs and to my bedroom, closing the door behind me. I blew raspberries before throwing my things on the floor, changed into some comfortable clothes, and immediately got into bed.
"I can't find her! I came to wake her up for practice this morning and she wasn't here. I called her like 10 times and she didn't answer. Mark, what if she's hurt? or even dead somewhere!?" oh god. maybe i should let my mom know that i'm alright. I hesitatedly got out of bed and went to my door, opening it. When my mother saw me standing in the doorway, she dropped the phone from her ear and came to me, pulling me into a hug.
"Oh my god, Nevaeh. I was worried sick. Where were you?!" we pulled away from our hug and i smiled apologetically.
"I'm sorry mom, i slept over Christina's last night and i forgot to call you,"
"Well, next time you have to remember, alright? i almost filled out a Missing Persons report on you," she laughed before hugging me again. "Well, I guess I should whip you up something to eat then. You must be starving,"
I shook my head. "No, I'm actually pretty tired, I'm gonna take a nap"
"Alright, well, dinner will be ready by the time you wake up." I simply nodded and went back to my bedroom, plopping down on my bed. I was beginning to get comfortable when my phone rang. I sighed and grabbed it from the edge of the bed and checked the caller ID. Christina.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Where have you been?! I've been trying to get a hold of you all morning."
I bit my lip weakly. I couldn't tell her that I had spent the night with her boyfriend. She'd hate me, even if we didn't do anything. "I've been asleep all morning. I'm just now waking up." I lied.
"Aww, poor baby has a hangover. I must admit, you were pretty fucked up last night," she giggled.
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever. Anyway, I know I missed practice this morning. I was so tired."
"Practice isn't the same without you. And not just because you're captain. You actually make it pretty enjoyable." I heard some crunching on her line and knitted my eyebrows together.
"Are you eating?"
"Yeah?" She answered in more of a question. "When am I not eating?"
I laughed. "True that."
"But anywho," she changed the subject. "Have you talked to Roc? He was looking for you today."
I facepalmed my forehead. I forgot about him. "Shit," I cursed quietly. "I forgot to call him." I frowned.
"Well, maybe you should do that." She suggested, "he's been worried sick about you ever since Craig took you home last night."
"Not exactly 'home'" I thought to myself. "I'm gonna call him right now actually. Thanks for checking on me though, Chrissy."
"No problem, girl. Take care of yourself, you know, with the hangover and all."
"Will do. Buh-bye now." I hung up before she got a chance to respond and placed my phone next to me on the bed. Now that I think about it, why would Craig take me home instead of Chres? My curiosity got the best of me and I found myself dialing Craig's number - instead of my boyfriend's.
"Did you make it inside alive?" He answered with a laugh.
"Why'd you take me back to your place last night instead of just taking me home, or to Roc's?" i blurted out.
He sighed. "I told you, ya boy was trippin' and you were fucked up. I wasn't gonna leave you with Chres. I was just looking out for you."
"Well thanks but, no thanks. I'm a big girl, I can handle myself."
"You sure about that?"
I was starting to grow livid with him. "Why do you have to be so damn annoying?!"
"Aye, you called me, don't start screaming and whatnot because i was trying to help you. Can you just say 'thank you' for once in your life and be grateful?"
I stayed quiet for a while until i realized that he was right, i was being ungrateful. "Fine, thank you." I snarled into the phone.
"You're very welcome, Nevaeh." i could almost see the annoying smirk he was wearing on his face right now. I rolled my eyes and hung up in his face.
