Chapter One-Eleven

Vibe: Break My Heart Myself by Bebe Rexha ft. Travis Barker

"That being said..." Alice stopped the captain from responding violently with a small sigh as she looked away, feigning boredom as she sized up his crew members. "I'm just one voice."

Her eyes flashed to the tall woman in the shadows wearing a dark tiered skirt with a rip up its side. As Alice tilted her head curiously, something inside her seemed to whisper a feeling of suspicion.

Quirking her thin eyebrow up, the small blonde cautiously maneuvered between Henry and Maggie as she spoke through the uncomfortably warm throbbing in her leg, "As you can clearly see—" She took front and centre stage, fearlessly standing before the towering muscular man and the eccentric lackeys behind him, "—I'm not the only sentient being here who is capable of forming an opinion." She smiled politely, as if she hadn't just mentioned wanting to decapitate his entire team. "What do you say, bevy?" Alice locked her eyes onto his dark golden irises, refusing to look away from him as she spoke with a condescending smile on her bloodied lips, "You want to willingly leave with these here fine folks and get sold like a piece of cheap furniture on the black market—and make Jay's death all but pointless?"

Her mangled leg left an unnerving trail of bloody dangerous water behind her; her lacerations thankfully still adequately numb as she awaited everyone's predictable answer.

"No ma'am." Henry spoke first in a low, molten voice, daringly close behind her.

"I'd rather you cut me down now." George vehemently agreed as they handed Henry and Maggie the iron pipes in their possession while standing back with Arthur and Ana to protect Charles, "Jay would stand up and protect us until the end—and I'm right there with him."

"For Jay." Arthur's voice came out hard; thick emotion in his throat.

"For Jay." Maggie repeated, spitting on the ground in a show of defiance.

"...For Jay." Ana whispered in a choked up voice.

"Speak now or forever hold your peace~" Alice ground her teeth anxiously as she stared at the Captain who was less than impressed, "...seems to be pretty unanimous, cap." Refusing to acknowledge the sudden pain from the movement, she stepped closer to him with her weight on the staff. The poisonous water steadily dripped off her wet hair as she leaned into his space, making him struggle to remain stoic in the face of something so potentially deadly. "But I'll be kind and give you a choice: leave within five minutes with your own heads attached to your bodies—" her lips curled up into a deceitful smile, "—Or don't ever leave this place again."

Her bluff rolled off her tongue so easily, Alice wasn't so sure it was a bluff. Every intention of scaring him and his odd crew off seemingly warping into a scary truth: she wanted them dead. She wanted to make them feel the pain they had no doubt caused others. And she wanted to end them—end everything they would go on to do after that day.

And it was exhilarating to admit it to herself.

Oh you know shit's going down when Alice has outright admitted she enjoys bloodshed. Good luck, Cap, you probably have no chance, I'm sure.
