Quackity saw Karl before Karl saw him, in the flower forest outside Kinoko Kingdom. He hung back. His fiance was seated on a small rock, braiding flowers into a crown. He was already wearing a flower necklace. The sun turned the edges of his brown, wavy hair buttery soft, like he was adorned with a crown of light. Once Karl finished the flower crown and put it carefully on his head, Quackity came out of the trees.
He bowed. "Your Majesty."
Karl's whole face brightened in a wide smile. Quackity felt himself break into a silly smile of his own, his chest expanding with something light and joyful. Karl extended his hand, putting on a pompous royal voice. "Kiss your King's hand, Sir Quackity."
Quackity laughed quietly, thinking of the vastly different circumstances of Karl calling him sir and Dream calling him sir. He bowed over Karl's outstretched hand and took it in his own, kissing his rings. Karl pulled away, but Quackity didn't let go. He flipped Karl's hand over and kissed his palm instead, smiling against warm skin. He pressed his lips to Karl's wrist next, feeling his pulse flutter.
Karl gripped his chin, pulling Quackity's gaze up. "You may kiss my lips now, loyal servant."
Quackity laughed and tackled him in a kiss, pushing Karl to the grass and covering his face in little kisses as Karl squealed and giggled. "This is very undignified behavior, Sir Quackity!"
"Are you going to throw me in the dungeon, Your Majesty?" Quackity teased.
Karl flipped him over suddenly, making Quackity gasp. "Don't tempt me," he said in a dark voice that sent Quackity's blood rushing south. Karl took in his wide eyes with a soft chuckle. He kissed Quackity's forehead. "I think your king can forgive your enthusiasm this time."
"Thank you, Your Majesty." Quackity batted his eyelashes, only a little disappointed that he wouldn't be punished.
Karl sat up between Quackity's legs. "Here, I made you and Sapnap necklaces too." He reached over, grabbing two chains of flowers from the ground. They were made of flowers with their colors, Quackity realized, touched. He raised his head so Karl could drape the necklace on him. "Beautiful," Karl declared.
Quackity laid back, hands behind his head. Karl over him, hair touched with gold and twined with flowers, his eyes smiling and soft -- he could look at him like this all day. "You're beautiful."
Karl's cheeks went adorably pink. Quackity smiled wider. Karl looked him over, his gaze starting at Quackity's middle and travelling lower to his ruined pants, crawling up the missing buttons on his shirt, and finally resting on the marks on his neck. "What?" Quackity asked innocently.
"He really fucked you up today, huh?" Karl said, his gaze riveted on Quackity's neck. Quackity suppressed a shiver at the scrutiny. The intensity hidden in the depths of Karl's eyes never failed to surprise him. Karl flicked open Quackity's surviving buttons and, almost lazily, parted his shirt. "I asked you a question, babe," he said in that playful, dangerous lilt.
"Yeah -- yeah, he did," Quackity said. He had to fight not to move, trying not to react and knowing he was failing. Karl could see the unsteady rise and fall of his chest and feel his pulse as he caressed the marks Dream had left. "He was kind of pissed at me for skipping a few days."
Karl's hand stilled and his eyes flicked to Quackity's face. "Did he hurt you?"
Quackity, I am not going to hurt you. "No," Quackity said. "Well, he did, but I wanted him to today."
"So all this," Karl gestured at the tapestry of bruises, "is one hundred percent consensual?"
"Yes," Quackity said. He laced his fingers with Karl's, rubbing his thumb over the back of his hand. "I don't do things I don't want to do. Not anymore."
