~✧~"Princess," Tom whispered softly in Taraphina's ear and shook her lightly by the shoulder, "Princess, you need to get up."
Tara groaned, she had finally found sleep again and it had just been interrupted. Annoyed, she buried her face in the feather pillow, hoping to ignore the young wizard.
"Come on darling, we have to get to Slughorn before everyone else is awake," the boy informed her, gently brushing aside the hair that was covering her face.
Now she remembered, she had arranged to meet the professor to find out more about her past. Slowly she opened her tired eyes and stared into Tom's smiling face.
"Good morning my sweet," Tom greeted her and gently kissed her lips; a kiss the young witch was happy to engage in, despite her tiredness.
Before the kiss could lead to anything more, Tom pulled away and in the process also removed the duvet from Taraphina's warm body, which only made her moan again in annoyance.
"I hate you," she complained to herself.
"We both know you don't."
She grumbled unenthusiastically and settled into a sitting position, "I know."
Defeated-surrendered, she scrambled out of the big bed and quickly got ready. A little concealer over the dark circles under her eyes, a little blush so she didn't look like a spawn, quickly combed her hair and threw on another suitable outfit for the day.
After about ten minutes, she looked reasonably well dressed and set off with Tom to see the professor. When they arrived at the professor's house, they knocked on his door. It flew open with a creak, revealing first the potions classroom and the adjoining living quarters of the professor.
After a brief greeting, Slughorn invited the two into his office and took a seat behind the large spruce desk. Tom and Tara chose the two seats on the opposite side and waited anxiously for the professor to speak. Tara could already sense that the situation was not easy for him either.
"Mrs Malfoy I would now like to put all pleasantries aside. Do you agree?" the professor began the conversation.
Tara nodded, "Of course."
"Very well then, Taraphina. I have some things I want to tell you now, I can understand if this is too much for you, so please let me know ahead of time and we'll put this conversation off for a bit," he warned.
Tara didn't know what made her shake her head directly, but she did anyway. She thought she was unsure about the strange situation, but apparently her subconscious knew exactly what it wanted, "I want to hear what you have to tell me."
The professor smiled, "I'm glad to hear that. Tom had told me about your flashback to the past, would you mind telling me about that yourself?"
"I honestly thought it was a nightmare at first until I talked to Tom about it," she began, emphasising key words, "I was in a completely dark room and I could have sworn I even smelled death. Then I ran away because I felt like I was being followed and then all too suddenly a woman had me trapped in her skinny arms. I didn't know exactly who she was, but in some way she also seemed familiar. After a short conversation she had taken me to bed and then when I woke up again you had me in your arms and the woman was lying in a pool of blood on the floor. Quickly you rushed with me through long corridors and jumped through a broken window with bent bars. Then, while we were falling, I woke up."
"Mhh," Horace Slughorn reflected, looking around the crowded office, "It really seems to me that you've gained a brief flashback to the past," with a sigh he rose, "Whisky?"
