THERE WERE BARELY thirteen minutes left before the game started by the time Sarah, Sami, and Darcy had finally gotten to the field—approximately twenty-five minutes later than she was aiming for. It's totally not her fault, though! She'd still been working on her hair by the time Scott and Isaac had to leave to get back to school ("Boys, please, looking this good takes time," she remembers telling them when they'd asked if she was ready to go) so she assured them that she and the others could find their way to the school later. She has Google Maps; it'd be fine!

     (It wasn't fine).

Two wrong turns, a majorly glitching GPS (fuck you, Google Maps), and two and a half arguments between she and Darcy—Sami had stopped the third one before it escalated too badly—were all contributions to her tardiness. So, really, she's not to blame for it. Google Maps is to blame. It's that simple.

Still, despite it all (and despite the two worried text messages from Isaac that Sarah had Sami respond to for her), she'd managed to get them there with a little time to spare. Not much, but some. She doesn't think the players were supposed to leave the field by the time she was finally walking toward the bleachers, but that hadn't stopped Kira and Liam from rushing to her the second she'd entered their field (...pun intended) of vision. Kira had gushed about how it was so nice to finally meet the three of them, and they all returned her energy, because she's Kira Yukimura and she's the sweetest person alive and they couldn't possibly be more excited to be on the receiving end of a hug from her. Liam told Sarah that he'd been looking forward to seeing her again for ages, and he gave her a big hug that left her slightly bitter that another person younger than her was still so much taller, but mostly thrilled to see him again.
