SARAH THINKS THAT, even though it had ended successfully, her outfit hunt seems completely and totally insignificant in hindsight, because she simply is not in a party mood anymore.
It's not even that the party is bad, really. The music they're playing is not her thing and she's been hit on, like, five too many times, but it's not inherently a bad night. On the plus side, she'd finally gotten to meet Mason and Theo, and Mason is even sweeter and funnier in person and she absolutely adores him. She and Theo's first greeting consisted of "oh no, you're finally here," and "why are you complaining? This is potentially the greatest thing to happen to you!" before Liam rushed over to remind them that they've already been exposed for liking each other and there was really no sense in keeping up this whole asshole charade they've had going back and forth for months (and then they started acting friendlier, and Theo told this really embarrassing story about Liam on their first date, and Sarah was cackling while Liam was visibly regretting coming over to maintain the peace).
She'd spent the next hour or so after that with Allison, dancing and playing truth or dare and talking about how often Malia's been practicing braiding and makeup so she could do it during their girls day tomorrow, which Sarah thought was so very cute. And she hadn't seen much of Sami and Darcy since they'd all climbed out of her tiny car and scattered in separate directions of the packed house, because Sami's been on the couch with Scott for almost the entire time in the middle of conversations about who knows what, and Darcy hasn't really left the room with the karaoke machine that she, Lydia, Malia, and Kira had made a beeline for almost immediately. It's fine with her, really, because she's so glad her two separate groups of friends are intertwining.
