Neighbor

dinner time!

I finish getting ready for the dinner. I put on a blue flower dress. And I put on my white low top converse.

Then I hear a knock on the door. I know that it's the neighbors. My mom has been preparing for hours and she just finished awhile ago.

I walk down the stairs and walk over to the front door.

I open the door and it is the neighbors. I yell to my mom that the neighbors are here. She quickly walks over. Wow it's been awhile since I've actually seen her wear a dress and full on dress up.

"Hiii! Welcome. Come on in!" My mom says in excitement. She closes the door after their walk in.

I wave at the guy and smile. Omggg I just realized I don't even know this guys name.

He waves back and smiles.

My mom and his mom quickly introduce each other.  They shake hands and all that.

Then after my mom sits me next to the guy. And the moms sit next to each other. We start eating.

"So I uhm realized that I haven't gotten your name yet." I say then laugh. Since we've had 3 interactions so far and we haven't even gotten each other's names.

"I'm Arny. What's your name?" He asks.

"I'm y/n. Well nice to finally get your name." I say then we both start laughing.

I finish eating and I realize that Arny is also done eating. The moms are getting along. Which is nice.

Arny looks at me then looks down. He signals for me to look down as well. He takes out his phone and has his phone under the table.

I see him type something in his notes. Then he shows me his phone and it says.

"Do you wanna get out of here? I'm kinda bored."

I take out my phone and create a new note and type out "Yes please. Let me just tell my mom."

Then I show it to him and he nods.

"Mom. Can Arny and I go outside for a bit?" I ask and she gives me a big smile.

"Yess of course!" She seems really happy to see that all of us are getting along.

Then I gesture to Arny to follow me. We both get up from our chairs and walk to the front door.

I close the front door after both of us walked out.

"So where do you wanna go?" I ask. Hopefully he has somewhere for us to go since he was the one that suggested it.

"We can just walk around for a bit. We can start to know each other. And maybe you can tell me why you were acting so cold to me before." He says then laughs. I gently punch his arm.

"Okayy fine! I guess I'll tell you." I say then we start to just walk around the neighborhood.

"When you bumped into me, then gave the most sympathetic apology ever. I thought it was kinda rude of you. To give the kind of apology you gave me after bumping into me and making me fall onto the ground." I say sounding really dramatic. Which I'm doing on purpose lol.

"I'm sorry! I'm not the best at giving apologies. So here's your apolog-"

"You don't have to, it's alright! I was just being dramatic. Don't worry about it!" I say.

He gives me a "are you sure" look.

"Yess I'm sure!" I say reassuring him that he doesn't have to.

I laugh.

*30 minutes later*

Arny and I are starting to walk back to my house. I'm super excited to actually have a friend who I can talk to. I'm kinda that loner. I don't really try to make friends. #introvert

I got to learn some new facts about him. Basically everything I need to know about him. He's actually a really nice guy. Really chill. We definitely laughed alot.

We talk more, and we reach my house.

"It was really nice getting to know you more. I'm glad I'll have a friend and neighbor who I can talk to." He says and gives me a hug. Then I hug him back.

And smile.

"Me too. I'll finally have a friend who I can talk to. I'm usually not the type to have a friend." I say embarrassed.

"Wait really?" He says then he pulls out of the hug.

"Yeahh lol." I say.

"Well you have me now! I'm also your neighbor so feel free to bother me whenever you want to." He says and takes his hand and messes up my hair with his hand.

He laughs after he messes up my hair.

"Seriously?! Ughh" I say then start laughing with him. I fix my hair.

He pulls out his phone. "Well here's my phone number. So we both have a way to contact each other."

I open my phone and create a new contact for him. I copy down his number into his contact.

Then I give him mine.

"Well I'll see you!" He says with a smile.

I pull him in for another hug. He's surprised by what I just did.

"Thank you for today. It was really fun! And also feel free to text me whenever. Or you can literally just walk over to my house." I say then pull out of our hug.

We both laugh.

"Yeah of course! I had a lot of fun today as well." He says.

"Byeee!" I say and walk up my stairs. He says bye back to me and we both walk into our houses.

When I walk in, my mom is sitting on the couch. Watching her favorite show. She pauses the show.

She walks over to me and says "I'm so happy to see you and Arny getting along. Now you'll have someone to hang out with!" She says in a excited tone.

"Yeahh he's really nice! He's not a asshole like all the other guys at school. Thank you for telling me to give him another chance, mom." I say and smile.

"Happy you listened, well get some sleep. Since school is starting soon. Goodnight, honey!" She says.

"Goodnight, Mom." I say then walk up to my bedroom.
