"Yes Nickolas dear, it's been too long and I already miss running, getting caught, being tortured, then going through the whole process on a never ending loop. Those were such good times for you, weren't they? I bet it's been boring since I'm not there to fuck shit up anymore." I responded, sarcasm and venom dripping from every word.
"It has gotten rather boring, not having my play mate around anymore. But that's ok because our game is going to restart really soon, and I think you know what I mean when I say that." Nick laughed, thinking I would be crushed.
"You're talking about how you ruthlessly stabbed my current master through the heart with the one thing that can kill you beasts without fail, right? Because I saw the whole thing, and believe me, it just made getting a head start that much easier. Now if you don't mind, I have some shit to do and people to kill. But I imagine we'll be seeing each other sooner than you think." I hung up, not letting any of the sadness and despair leak into my tone until the phone call was ended. As soon as the phone was away from my ear I jumped into action, getting clothes, money, and weapons together. I was still getting on that plane to London, dead lover or not.
Once I was out of the country, I could find the closest dimension rip and go home. But I knew they would follow me to the U.K. And I was counting on it. They were all going to die, I was going to make sure of it if it was the last thing I did, to get revenge for killing the only mortal I ever loved. But wait, Violet aren't you mortal too? No, remember back at the beginning of our tale, when I released my appearance seal? I'm not from the human world, oh no, I'm from a different dimension altogether. But we can talk about how I'm immortal, just not the accepted, evil, dominating from the shadows, kind that we've become so used to, later. Right then I wanted to hunt down those evil men that stole someone from me for no reason. Did they do it to bring me back so they could make more money? Maybe they did it because I was happy for once, and we couldn't have that, could we? I double checked my belongings and made sure I had my boarding pass. Everything was in place and all I needed was a cab to get there. I grabbed my phone and looked up a cab company, dialing the first one I found.
"Hi I need a cab within the next five minutes, Can you do that?" I asked, no patience present in my voice.
"Miss we need a call at least thirty minutes in advance." A monotonous male voice floated through the receiver. I sighed in exasperation.
"Is there any possible way? I'm in a bit of a rush and I need a cab. Like, right now." The worry slipped in slightly, letting the man know the situation at hand.
"Well we have a guy who is roaming, what is your address?" He responded. I blurted it out while spewing gratitude for his kindness, all cares out the window.
"Our guy is two minutes away will you be outside waiting?"
"I can be. Can he meet me by the garage entrance instead of the front?" I didn't want to risk running into Nick or his goons.
"Um, sure? I'll call him right now. goodbye miss, have a good evening." He promptly hung up, hopefully to call his guy. I glanced at the fire escape, debating climbing down that way for nostalgic reasons, but I knew it was a bad idea since I had done once before. I grabbed my duffle bag and backpack, then walked out the door for what I knew was forever.(so cheesy)
I locked the door and went to the stairwell. No one ever took the stairs because they were creepy, perfect for my getaway. They took a while but right as I got to where I was meeting the cab, he pulled up. I waved and walked up the climb in. The driver started to get out to get the trunk but I stopped him.
"I'm fine, I need you to get me to the airport as quickly as you can." I told him, buckling up so we could leave faster. He nodded and started to pull away. I took one last look at the building and saw that the body was gone. I shook my head, of course it's gone, they don't want to leave a trace.
