Canon To AL-9 "Healing Tattoos"

(This is canon to AL-9, it will be mentioned but not for awhile, so this is kinda a squeal to it)

'so you would like these designs in your arms and this other design on your upper and middle back?'

the tattoo artist asked as she showed him the two pictures, the design for the arms were vines and leaves that wrapped around all over, with dark blue and purple roses and tulips that grew from the vines, the second design for his upper back was a skull with a purple rose on the right top if it and a blue tulip on the bottom left and on the other bottom side of the skull was the magatama 

he nodded in approval, after at least 2 years of being clean from self-harm, he decided to get his scars covered with tattoos, but he wanted the tattoos to have a special meaning, he first thought of music notes because of mei's passion for music, but he decided against it, he thought about getting meaningful words and quotes but he decided against that too

he eventually settled on flowers and plants, he always loved roses, they were his and mei's favourite thing and mei's favourite colour was dark purple, his mother's name was a tulip, and her favourite colour was dark blue, the same colour as him, and the magatama was in memory on mia, he got his tattoo's based on his deceased loved ones 

'alright we'll get you started, please take off your shirt'

phoenix hesitated before unbuttoning his shirt, he had just gotten out of work so he was still dressed in his work attire, he slide off his shirt, his faded scars being exposed to the tattoo artist, luckily she didn't say anything about his scars, he had called and altered them prior to this, they were very understanding and assured him it would be no issue and that he wouldn't be judged 

'would you like for me to start off with your arms?'

he nodded as he held out his faded scarred arm, the woman prepped him, informed him on what would it feel like, and started to make the design, the pain was there, but it felt like a rough scratch at best, so it wasn't terrible

after a good 2 hours, the arms were completely done, phoenix was in awe, it turned out so much better than he had thought, the leaves and vines around his arms were very detailed and were such a pretty dark first green colour, and the flowers were gorgeous, the purple roses and the blue tulips both big and small littered all over, you could hardly see any skin let alone the scars

'well what do you think?'

'..i love them'

he muttered, gently running the new tattoo's over his arms, the woman smiled as she asked him to straighten his back as she started to work on the skull tattoo, it took longer but he managed, in the end, the lady should him the mirror where he could see his back perfectly, he took to his side sightly and saw the incredible detail of the magatama, and the skull, it was perfect, better then he had expected, and it covered his scars from when he would be whipped or beaten by William and paul, this was the first time phoenix ever liked how he looked, that he never liked his body

'honestly, this was my favourite tattoo design'

she said, smiling proudly at her work, phoenix put back on his shirt, buttoning it back up as thanked the lady and paid her, and gave her 15 dollar tip before he left, when he got in the car, he looked at his black sleeve for a moment, he then took off his black coat, and rolled up his white sleeves all the way to his elbows,  something he never did before

miles shot his head up from his book as he heard the door open

'welcome back'

he greeted, phoenix hummed, waving at him, miles eyes widen as he realized that his sleeves were rolled up, and that his arms now had tattoos

'..you got tattoos?'

he asked, phoenix looked down at his arms, oh yeah, he didn't tell miles yet

'yeah, ..i wanted to cover my scars, and I've been thinking about it for a while, ..what do you think'

miles got up and touched his arms lightly, gracing his fingers through his skin, he examined the design, vines and leaves with tulips and roses growing right out of it

'it suits you, ..the tulips are a symbol of your mother yes?'

'and the roses are for mei'

he said, tracing his fingers along with the design

'i also got one on my back'

he said as he started to unbutton his shirt, he slide it down to show off the new tattoo, miles blushed a bit of red as he saw the skull tattoo, phoenix put his shirt back on

'..well, do you like it?'

miles cleared his throat as he tried to compose himself 

'..yes, ..they suit you quite well'

he said in a bit of a flustered matter, phoenix grimaced at his reaction, the tatttoo's did suit him well

'..I've never seen you so comfortable in your own skin, ..it's a nice sight to see'

miles commented

'..yeah, ..for once i don't feel ugly'

'...you were never ugly to begin with, but i do enjoy seeing your confidence showing much more'
