"Hey Megan... Wake up sweety!" I wake up to my mom sweetly, but violently, shaking me to wake up.
"Mom, I'm suppose to sleep in when it's summer time." I laugh, trying not to start the day off bad with a bad attitude.
"Hunny, we are leaving soon. I'm gonna go finish breakfast but, you better be downstairs if you don't want us to leave you." Her voice gradually gets louder as I fully wake up.
"Oh! Sorry, I'll get up." I quickly jump out of my twin sized bed and run to shut the door behind her.
Today we are leaving for our annual beach trip, we'll be there from the middle of June through the middle of July. Im not done packing! Like, I packed the essentials, such as my whole closet but, I still have to grab the stuff out of my bathroom.
I rush into the bathroom, across the hall from my room, and brush my teeth and try to tame my messy hair. After finishing I take my shampoo, conditioner, razor, straightener, curling wand, tooth brush & tooth paste, hairbrush, makeup, hair ties, face wash, and blow dryer, then throwing them into one of my zebra print bag suitcases.
Running back into my room, I throw on some comfy yoga pants, a big Tshirt, and start carrying all my bags downstairs. I only have 3 bags, really. My ginormous one, filled with my clothes, my medium sized one, filled with bathroom essentials, and then my purse, carrying my money, phone, and some makeup.
I immediately carried my bags to the car and then rushed back inside to eat. Sitting down at the table was hectic, my whole family was all over the place trying to make sure they didn't forget anything. I started eating my bacon and pancakes when I heard a loud thud. I look up to see Lillie, my sister, coming down the stairs with a suitcases bigger than her, and hitting every step on the way down.
"Need help Lillie?" I laughed, trying to swallow some bacon at the same time.
"No. I'm a big girl now. I can do it." She spouted off with confidence.
"If you say so," I threw my hands up in defeat and began to finish up my food.
"Everyone get in the car!" My mom called out and all 5 of us kids ran for the minivan all packed in the driveway.
Needless to say, there's 5 of us.. So the drive to the airport was a little rough. A lot of fighting, singing, screaming, sleeping, you name it. I, on the other hand, sat quietly against the window and listened to music all the way there. A few times I was nudged by my little sister but I tried to block her out. I had one goal in mind, and one goal only, it's to find him.
We got to the airport about 2 hours after we left, it's now noon and out plane takes off at 1 p.m. My family is all over doing head counts, carrying lots of bags, and trying to get through the security check points without losing a kid. Within 20 minutes we are all sitting by the departure gate waiting for our flight to be ready to board.
