The next morning I slept in, I woke up around 10 and the room was still pretty dark. Not wanting to get out of bed, I stretched enough too see out the window across the room, and it was thundering and lighting. Great. I could barely see the flashes of lightning through all the rain beating on my window pane. I decided to stay in bed and play on my phone, I was rather comfy any way and didn't want to get up. I unplugged my iPhone and noticed I had a text from an unknown number, it read:
"Hey there, what kind of plans did you want to make for Saturday? I'm open to anything.
-Danny""I don't really know, what is there to do around here?"
"Wait, you aren't from here?"
"Haha, no. I'm visiting for the next month."
"Looks like we have a lot of getting to know each other than! Haha."
"I guess so! Lol"
"Anyway, there's a skating rink up the street from the beach, oh and a fair."
"Skating sounds fun to me."
We texted for about an hour but he ended up having to go, because of some damage done by the storm on the beach.
I finally got the energy to get up and I went over to the window, I picked up the cup containing my rose from Wren and started admiring it. It's still alive! I usually kill flowers within a few hours. The rain started dying down when I walked out in the living room area. My mom and dad were resting on the couch and my siblings were in their rooms playing.
"I'm starving!" I proclaimed.
"I made some soup in the kitchen," my mom said motioning toward the little setup against the wall. I poured myself a small plastic bowl of soup and ate it right there.
"What are we gonna do today?" I asked my parents.
"It's probably gonna be just a chill day," my dad said. I chuckled to myself at the sound of my dad saying "chill."
"Oh okay, I'm gonna go lay down," I said and walked back to my room.
I haven't talked to Wren in a bit, I'll see what he's up too, I thought to myself.
"Hey, having fun with your dad?"
"Not really, but I don't get to see him often so I guess it's alright."
"Well I'm glad you're enjoying yourself! Lol."
"Haha, thanks, I so can't wait for tomorrow."
"Me either! Ice cream parlor, right?"
"Duh! I wanna take you to the fair also!" It was fun the first time, I guess it will be fun again.
"That sounds like a great date!"
"Haha, you have no idea."
"What's that suppose to mean?"
"It's a surprise!"
"Ugh. I hate surprises."
"Remember the preview?"
"How could I forget?"
"Alright, then you'll be good."
"I'm still confused but whatever, LOL." I lied, but I don't the conversation to begin to get awkward. We texted for a good bit, but then he had to go out to eat with his dad.
So I guess a Netflix movie marathon with myself? Sounds great.
