Skimming through my unpacked suitcases, I found my light blue blouse, and white jean shorts. Setting those on the bed, I look in the mirror, on the back of my door, to fix my hair. I touched it up in a few places with my straightener and then lastly, fixed my makeup. Once done, I slipped into my outfit.
Having time before we leave, I decided I'd get my checklist. My checklist is like me and my friends rate guys.. It sounds terrible but I mean, you know. Most of the items on it are from magazines, to be honest, and the random ones we've added here and there. The whole main reason and purpose of the checklist is to find the perfect guy...
I pulled it out of my bag and began reading some of them and mentally putting checks next to the ones that I know fit Wren.
Taller than me; full lips; gorgeous eyes; sexy muscles; well dressed; tan; good complexion; proper grammar; not illiterate; smart; worldly; cute, and so on.
I was quite pleased when I realized how well he did, compared to previous boys I've dated, he's doing great on the list. I know it's bad to compare him to my past lovers , but he's just so amazing I can't help it. I've never had someone make me smile so much, and I just met this boy this morning! I'll continue rating him later, after I learn everything about him.
"Hey, everyone finish getting ready, we are leaving for Dionos in 5 minutes," dad yelled.
I tossed the little notebook back into my bag and headed for the front door of the suite. Stepping out into the hall, I pulled my phone out and texted Wren.
"Hey, we are about to leave. Are you ready?"
"Yeah, I'm about to leave."
"Okay, see you there."
I slipped my phone into my jean pocket when I heard everyone piling out the door.
Within 20 minutes, we were waiting for the waiter to seat us. I looked out the restaurant window to see if Wren was coming, after a few minutes I saw him pull up in a cab, an I walked out to greet him.
"Hey!" I held out the 'y' as I gave him a friendly hug.
"Hey," he smiled and said back as we hugged. We walked inside, and as soon as we walked in we were ready to be seated.
Dinner was quite awkward, Wren sat next to me and my row of brothers sitting opposite of me were whispering "Meg's got a boyfriend, Meg's got a boyfriend," but I ignored them.
"So Wren," my dad said, "do you play any sports?"
"Yes sir, I play golf and tennis," Wren replied.
"Oh, really? I play tennis too!" I added.
"It's one of my favorites, our team got 2nd in regions this past year," he gloated.
"Oh, that's your school? You go to Oak Dale?"
"Yeah, what about you?" He chuckled a bit.
"I go to Kingston, we got 4th!"
"Woah, we do live close to one another."
"Haha, that's awesome," I smiled at Wren and fixed my gaze over to my dad. He doesn't look pissed, but he doesn't look super happy either, he's just staring at us with judgmental eyes.
We finished eating and after many, many questions from my dad, we received his blessing to go to the beach.
"Be back by 11 Meg, I mean it," he said strictly.
I looked down at the time in my phone, it read 930, that's plenty of time to hang out. We decided to walk to the beach, since it was right around the corner.
"You're dad seems pretty chill," Wren muttered.
"He's alright, I think he likes you, that's good."
"I hope so, I thought he was gonna kill me with his stare," he laughed.
"Haha, nah, he's just protective, you'll get use get use to it."
We walked through the slightly dark beach kicking sand at each other. I scooped up a handful of wet sand and chucked it at his torso.
"You're gonna pay for that," he laughed and started chasing me around the beach.
"Wren, no stop!" I screamed as he chucked fistfuls of sand at me.
Finally, I ran out of breath and collapsed into the sand. Wren came over and sat by me, we watched the ocean as the tide almost touched us. The sun was already set, but the way the moon reflected on the ocean was absolutely beautiful.
"It's so pretty," I said as I stared up at the night sky.
There was a pause.
"Not at pretty as you," Wren said and my whole body shut down at the sound of his deep voice when they said those words. I couldn't move, breathe, think, or speak. All I could do was smile. That's when I felt Wren's warm hand touch the side of my face and turned it towards him. I managed to mumble out, "thank you." He looked at me with his now darkened green eyes and leaned in, placing the sweetest kiss I've ever felt upon my lips. At first they were little pecks, here and there, but then I responded with my mouth slightly open and we were kissing. He was so sweet and gentle, it felt like the world stopped.
He pulled back slowly, and looked back into my eyes. "You're so beautiful. I hope you know that," he breathed out.
"You're so sweet," I smiled back at him.
We hung out for a few more minutes, then Wren pulled out his phone and we noticed it was 10:45.
"Oh, I better get you back so your l dad doesn't kill me or you." He hastily said.
"True, let's go."
Wren helped me up and held my hand as we walked up the hill to the hotel. We stopped where we were to part so I could head inside and he could head to his dad's.
"I had a really great time Megan," he smiled as stared into my eyes.
"I had a really great time too," I replied.
"Tomorrow?"
"Definitely," I quickly said and he leaned in placing a small kiss on my cheek.
"Aw, really? Not a real kiss?" I joked.
"Ha, guess you'll have to wait until tomorrow."
"Darn," I laughed and started walking inside the building, Thad when I felt his hands wrap around my waist and turned me around, he dipped me back slightly giving me a better kiss than before.
"That's a preview." He said with a wink and walked his separate way.
I was speechless, not once did he turn around, he kept walking with confidence in his stride. That was amazing, he's gonna be quite an adventure this summer.
I walked upstairs and it was now 10:55, I used my room key and unlocked the door, my mom and dad were sitting on the couch watching tv.
"Did you have fun sweetie?" Mom asked.
"Yeah, we went down to the beach and kicked sand at each other," I laughed motioning towards the sticky sand attached to my legs and shirt.
"I actually like that boy, Meg."
"Really dad?"
"Yeah, he's smart, seems well put together, and he seems to favor you respectfully." I chuckled remembering the moment we just had.
"He's really sweet."
"Well, as long as he treats you good, I don't care if you two hang out."
"Thanks daddy," I headed to my room. I honestly didn't care if he approved or not because I'd just sneak around anyway, at least now I don't have too.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, can hurry up now, I want to see Wren! I locked my bedroom door changed into my pajamas. My phone went off, it was a text from Wren.
