Staring straight at the road ahead, I still had my regret and disbelief. How could I easily join in a stranger's car? Did I know what his intention was when he invited me? There's a long silence since I drowned in my anxiety. The man behind the steering wheel broke the tension when I took a glance.

"I knew it was you. I heard from my sister that you're already in Duskwood!" said him. It took me a moment to notice an eccentric bat tattoo on his neck. A slight relief filled my chest once I finally recognized him.

"It's Phil, right?" asked me then I got a wink from his eye.

"You got me! What a wonderful day to meet you, my savior," replied Phil which is not a surprise for me. This is just the way he sounds like when I first texted him back then.

"What are you saying? You helped me escape just now. Thank you, Phil."

"You proved my innocence by sending the real culprit to the jail. I owe you for that, [Y/N]."

I figured out the whole thing now. So, Phil was discharged after Richy got arrested. Well, he has nothing to do with Hannah's disappearance after all.

"Thanks to my fellows too. They are such warm people, especially your sister, Jessy," admitted me.

"I know. She must be happy if you drop in our place for a while. Would you mind?"

"Truthfully, I'd promised Jessy for that."

"Good, it's settled then," said Phil with a light cheered from his voice.

The sun set earlier as the autumn was going on, leaving the view of dusk in Duskwood captured by my eyes. Purple pink shaded over the sky as a background of the forest silhouette, told me a lot about how mysterious yet fascinating this town has been. I can't help but film the view along the way to Jessy's house. I uploaded some seconds of it to my reel. Calvin was the first one to react, asking when I would return. It reminded me that i hadn't even shopped for his souvenirs yet.

"Anyway, are not you supposed to be in Aurora at this time?" I asked Phil when I caught him staring at me. That might be uncomfortable if I fell in silence all of sudden.

"Nah. Who would come to the bar owned by an ex-prisoner?" replied him. Oh, I had to deal with another break down guy.

"But you are innocent after all."

"It doesn't change the fact though."

"Ah, I'm sorry to hear that," I replied, suddenly felt like this topic wasn't a good choice. "But what are you going to do with Aurora? However it still belongs to you."

"Dunno, maybe I will burn it all with every crime evidence I've had. Sounds epic isn't it?" said Phil, playfully raised his eyebrow. I knew he was making fun of someone. Who else but our only culprit?

"Hey, don't ever joke like that around Jessy," I warned him.

"I know. She might like her ex-boss somehow, and now she's pretty hurt. I believe you're the only one who could cheer her up again, [Y/N]," answered Phil.

"Both of us could."

"Both of us ... both of us, sounds like you wanted me to do something with you just for her."

"I don't know what you mean, but what makes you believe only me? You also have your way to cheer your sister."

"You know, I wasn't that close with Jessy. Sometimes I wanted to act as a true brother like when she was in problem lately, but seems like she is okay as long as you're on her side," said Phil. I didn't know if he has this side of concern. As far as I knew from his private chat with Jessy is nothing but he always scolded her.

"That's nothing to do with me. Jessy is indeed a strong girl," replied me, which is the truth.

"No, I don't know what you've done with her, but she is a big fan of you. At a moment I heard she wish you to be her relative like ... [Y/N] Hawkins. Do you get what I mean?"

"Sorry, I've got to answer a phone call," I said immediately as my phone rang. Calvin's name appeared on my screen. I forgot to answer his DM and he called me right away? I was sure he knew that I would have three days stayed in Duskwood. What makes this mother hen worried then?

"Hi Calvin, is there anything wrong?" I asked him, feeling bad with his unusual concern.

"No, nothing, just wanna make sure you're okay," replied Calvin which is completely out of character. He warned me to stay safe and return home immediately before he hung the phone afterward.

"Your brother, huh?" asked Phil. I replied honestly if Calvin is a friend of mine. "He has a great concern for you, must have been that kind of friend."

"We grew up close to each other since we were kids. So, yeah, he looks like a brother to me," answered me.

"I see. By the way, welcome to Hawkins residence ... I hope you belong to this place one day," said Phil. He stopped his car before the front gate of a house while I remained speechless by his last sentence.

I was looking around to hide my blush while Phil calling Jessy, requested her to open the gate. They have two floored house with only Jessy who live there since Phil moved to his apartment. I guess they might be a big family before.

"Hi! Good timing, Phil. I'm about to pick up our main guest. Everything's set!" said a red-haired girl which I recognized as Jessy.

"Sorry, but I'm hundred steps further than you," replied Phil. He rolled down his car window, so Jessy could saw us from outside. She hurriedly embraced me with a warm hug and sweet greets. It was nice to finally meet the closest friend in my Duskwood circle.

"I didn't expect you would come along with Phil. Did he scare you? Sorry, he might have been too bold, but he is a nice guy," said Jessy.

"Is that even a compliment?" protested Phil and I couldn't help but laugh.

"You guys get along pretty well than I'd imagined," commented me glad enough.

"We did. We've planned this party together to welcome you, [Y/N]," answered Jessy. I thanked her as I completely felt honored. I mean, my friendship here begun with a thick mystery of a missing girl. We had suspected each other, distrusted, and being accused, but look where are we now: Party time!
