Chapter 10

I wished I still have something left. I couldn't involve my friends from Duskwood since it has nothing to do with them, but Jake ... if only he hadn't his problem, I would like to ask for his help. Would he return my favor after I helped him to find Hannah? Haha, he doesn't even want me to contact him anymore!

Yet I still hoping like a stupid. I checked my other phone with a different contact number I gave him yesterday. I hoped Jake changed his mind and there would be a message from him.

Jake added you.

Jake: "Hi, [Y/N]. I am Jake. Thank you for giving me this number. I do not think that I have to reach you this soon, but we urgently need to talk."

It was him! He added me last night. Half of my pain dissolved when I knew at least Jake was still there. I didn't lose him and that was the only good news I had in this hard situation.

[Y/N]: "I told you that yesterday wasn't our goodbye, right? Don't you believe it now?"

Jake: "Yes. I am glad that I was wrong :)"

[Y/N]: "Truthfully, I didn't think that you would contact me first either. I was about to ask for your help too anyway."

Jake: "About your Calvin guy, right?"

[Y/N]: "Do you still reading my private chat?"

Jake: "No, I've limited my hacking activity during my run away."

[Y/N]: "So how do you supposed to know Calvin? We never talked about personal life nor our closest people."

Jake: "I just coincidentally know, and not much. That was why I want to know more. Did he tell you something strange recently?"

I told Jake that Calvin was ambushed when I was at Duskwood yesterday. I was not leaving the part about how strange that Calvin was sent home afterward as if the abductors wanted to show that they even know the password access to Calvin's apartment. The most important part is my encounter with him last night. If only I could stop him ....

[Y/N]: "Jake? Are you still there?"

I asked since Jake didn't respond for more than a moment.

Jake: "Yes, sorry. Have you talked to him this morning?"

[Y/N]: "No, he answered neither my chat nor my call."

Jake: "So, apart from your encounter last night, his last contact with you was yesterday when he told you about the abduction. Do you manage to convince him to stay?"

[Y/N]: "Yes, he agreed to wait for me before deciding anything, but not at our encounter last night. He acted incredibly strange and I ... I was distracted. I just let him go. This is my fault, Jake."

Jake: "No, do not say that. I suggest you check him once again. He might have returned this morning."

[Y/N]: "Jake, he headed to the airport with his stuffed backpack. Do you think he would return this quick? He might have just arrived at his destination."

Another long wait filled the moment when I thought that Jake was lost in his mind. I wanted to believe that Calvin would return, but it was just impossible that he returned this morning.

Jake: "[Y/N], I initially did not want to tell you this, but the one you met last night was me."

[Y/N]: "Excuse me, what?!"

Jake: "It was me, not Calvin."

WHAAATT?! Oh, wait a second ... I laughed for no reason. I didn't know where the funny part is, but I had met Jake and I didn't realize that? He hugged me, I held his hand, and yes ... he stole my first kiss.
