Third POV

Dusik zoomed into the security room with his wheelchair, turning it to face Eunhyuk and Minji, who were looking over the temperature charts.

"Were you able to shut down the elevator?" Minji asked politely, looking up from the charts, "Power levels have gone down and we need to save as much as possible."

Dusik threw the keys to the quarantine room in front of Eunhyuk, "What we're doing to Hyunsu, is it right? He didn't harm anyone. We aren't sure he'll turn into a monster."

He wasn't directing this to Minji. Dusik already knew Minji's thoughts on the matter. Eunhyuk however...

"It isn't right." The younger male answered, "I know, but Hyunsu is dangerous. He's dangerous, but we need him."

Both Dusik and Minji clenched their jaw. It was true, but at the same time it wasn't. There wasn't any proof that Hyunsu himself was dangerous. He hasn't hurt anyone and hasn't shown any signs of doing so.

But they had to be cautious. Minji just didn't understand why Hyunsu was treated as less than a human. He was still a living being with a conscious state of mind. Stable? Maybe not, but he could think for himself.

With the younger boy going upstairs everyday to fetch supplies that the residence request, he would get caught by multiple monsters, with no doubt.

That is why Minji gave him a little contraption to help him avoid monsters

"What are you doing?" Hyunsu asked curiously, sitting a few feet away from Minji.

She was holding his makeshift spear, attaching fishing line to it. The military officer wanted to make his job a little more safer. It was dangerous enough as it is.

"I'm attaching fishing line to your weapon. I want you to tie the line to railings or doors as you're up there. If anything hits the line, you'll be alerted. It'll help avoid monsters I hope." Minji explained.

Then she handed the spear back to Hyunsu.

"Thanks."

Minji's eyes softened, "Yeah, sure thing."

—————

Minji was looking through the security cameras, trying to find any trace of Hyunsu. He's about two hours later than his usual run but he has yet to return.

"Noona, don't worry. I'm sure he's fine." Eunhyuk spoke from beside her, sensing her anxiety.

"Jagiya, not right now please-" Minji froze. Someone was blowing a whistle frantically. A monster had entered.

Minji threw herself off her chair, nearly hitting Eunhyuk in the process, and ran to the other side of the security room.

She ducked under a desk for a few seconds. When she stood back up, the women was holding her shotgun, putting in a shotgun shell.

Minji darted outside, Eunhyuk right behind her with a baseball bat.

Outside of the store, she saw Jieun shakily blowing the whistle. In front of her, was a short figure that was covered in a messy mop of hair.
