I HATE MATH. Yeah, math. The only subject i'm not good in, and the only subject that makes me want to drag myself into a pile of misery.
Which I already did.
"Hey, do you know the answer to number 12?" A voice called out.
I lift my head up from my desk, groaning at my aching headache. "I'm sorry. . . but no." My eyes had been fuzzy all this class.
"Oh my god! Amelia?"
I question the girl's squeal. Why does she sound familiar? And why does she sound like I have a horn growing out of my forehead or something.
I rub my eyes to see the girl better.
Wait a second.
Brown curls. Wide smile. Rosy cheeks..
My eyes widen as I let out a whisper shriek. "Rosie!"
"Hi!" She pauses to look at me sternly. "Listen, I know it's the middle of the day and all.. but take a look at yourself."
Okay, straight to the point.
"I'm sorry?" I ask, genuinely concerned and confused.
She reaches for her bookbag and grabs a small pocket mirror then hands it to me.
I take a look at my face. What the hell happend?!
I touch my bruised eye as I think of my whole night and week.
Work, work, school, Peter, work, work.
Did I just say Peter?
Work.
I've been working on patrolling the city, and maybe have been helping Peter out on the vulture.
I give rosie her mirror back. "I must have gotten hit..ya know..patrolling."
Her face lightens up. "Yeah! My dad told me, that's so cool!"
Yeah it is, when your uncle isn't Tony Stark.
I look back at my desk, looking down at the half-filled paper. "Yeah, I guess."
It seems like she noticed my miserable vibe, because she didn't ask anymore questions.
Thank god. ____________________________________
"Okay so, liz is beautiful. And you're screwed." Ned said, getting a chomp out of his sandwich.
We were all currently at lunch, talking about who we are going to take to homecoming and what we're going to do when the day finally arrives. I've been listening to they're conversation, but I haven't really said anything. Rosie was with her other friends at another table, so, I couldn't really socialize with her as much.
Mj leans over the table. "Okay first of all, I think she's into nerds."
Ned leans in too. "Oh really? Then why hasn't she replied to Peter's text?"
