'~Why are Milo's hands covered in bandages? Also, we get a sneak peek of Deimos jealousy hehe,~'
Milo looked up from the engine compartment upon hearing heavy footsteps approaching his way. He turned to see the door open and Sanford walked into the garage.
"Miles! What you up to?" The burly mercenary grinned making his way to Milo. "Oh, hey Sanford! Actually, I just finished fixing the truck," Milo said and dropped the wrench into the steel cabinet and wheeled it away from him with his foot.
Sanford leaned over Milo to look at what Milo was fixing. "Huh, sweet," Sanford chuckled. Milo looked at his bandaged hands and huffed. "Ah, my bandages got dirty, can you pass me a new roll from the shelf over there?" Milo pointed out. "Sure!" Sanford headed over to the shelf. "You always get motor oil and stuff on ya. Means you work hard," Sanford couldn't help but pushed aside a few stuff to get a box of bandages.
Milo couldn't help but chuckle as he wiped his face with a clean rag.
After a while, Milo dropped onto the couch beside Sanford after he rewrapped his hands with the new roll of bandages. "Aww, man. It's been so long since we've got to hang out like this!" Sanford exclaimed and slung an arm over the couch. "I know you've only been here for a week but we still got a lot to catch up on!"
"Haha! Yeah we do!" Milo couldn't help but laugh excitedly. It has only been a week since 2BDamned had recruited Milo into the SQ. Still unbelievable how he's working with his old friend again.
There was a short pause before Sanford had suddenly taken Milo's hand into his own, Milo couldn't help but jolt at the sudden touch. "Dude..." Sanford started and stared at the newly bandaged hands. Despite Milo using the whole roll for both, they still seemed way too thin and bony.
"If you don't mind me asking... What happened to your hands? I was sure they looked fine the last time I saw you," Sanford looked up at Milo. "Oh... Uhm..." Milo nervously pulled his hand from Sanford's hold and stared at his hands. "It happened back in the agency. After you dissented..."
"They used to use torture methods to those who refused to be in line... Or if they didn't work hard enough," Milo shakily sighed remembering the horrible imagery he was either forced to witness or had to be a part of.
The times when he was called to be disciplined and trained to be more in line. He would be led into a specific room too many times he could picture his surroundings way too perfectly he wished he didn't.
"The most severe one is by burning their... Hands. I... Got one too many," Milo shuddered to remember when he was forced to shove his hands into a furnace. The horrible feeling of his hands blistering at the intense heat, how his voice grew hoarse after he was thrown back into his quarters with his hands still bleeding, smudging his uniform.
Some of his roommates were kind enough to help him bandage his hands up and offer to fill in for him. Although he wished he could take up the offer, he was ordered to work like any other day.
How his hands would shake and ache. Struggling to hold his equipment right and would shrink back in fear when he would accidentally drop them. He kept trying to get himself to work again and not let his hands smarts go to waste.
Milo was quick to plaster a smile on his face.
"It's practically just bones at this point, maybe the nerves to ya know, control them, heh, but it's alright. At least I won't feel any pain. And besides, it's in the past," Milo said.
Sanford stared at him in utter disbelief and horror before he grabbed Milo's poor hands again. This time with a stronger grip tt Milo was sure could just crush his hands.
"WAIT WHAT?!" He exclaimed and leaned slightly closer.
"Holy shit I'm so sorry that I wasn't there to help! I-I really didn't mean to leave you behind! Ahhh Milooooo!!!" Sanford whined sadly.
He felt so guilty for leaving the only friend he ever had back when he worked in that god awful agency.
"Woah, now!" Milo pulled his hand back to hold up in front of him to calm Sanford down. "It's alright, Ford! I'm fine I swear!"
"You sure bud?" Sanford asked still upset at himself. Milo sighed and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Of course, I know you wouldn't have left me behind on purpose, you wouldn't leave a man behind,"
"Well, if you say it's alright," Sanford said. "I did say it's alright, no 'If's Ford," Milo said. And Sanford began to smile once more. As the two continued to another topic to discuss, Deimos was passing by the hallway that led to the garage, on his way to meet up with Vienna for a new mission.
The smoker couldn't help but pause by the doorway as he passed by it and frown at the light-hearted conversation going on between Sanford and Milo. He shot a glare at Milo who seemed to not notice him too invested in the moment.
"Tch!" Deimos clicked his tongue in annoyance before he fished out his cigarette box out of his pants and put one between his lips.
Vienna noticed Deimos's pissy mood when he climbed into the seat and didn't question it at first. But Vienna had a feeling it had something to do with the rookie. "You alright Dei?" Vienna finally asked as they started up the motorcycle.
"It's fine, everything's just, swell," Deimos grumbled through his teeth.
"Is it the rookie or something?" Vienna asked revving the engine. "No? What makes you say that?" Deimos scoffed as he gripped his seat so that he wouldn't fall off.
Vienna hummed and just drove off.
'~Ooooh somebody's jelly oooooooh,(Edit; Sorry for dying couple of weeks. Shit happened and I might be back to writing sorry for the wait,,,~'
