'~you guys know those moments when your homie gets hit in the head and you go ahead and make sure they're good and you could just feel the tension? Yeah these two did ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)~'

It was late in the evening and Milo was just giving the truck a little tune up. Sanford was around to help him out since he didn't have anything better to do and Deimos got the kids covered.

Milo was checking underneath the truck as usual with Sanford waiting on the couch. The brunette couldn't really stop thinking about his first missions with the gang.

He couldn't help but feel more proud of himself. He survived! He couldn't be more glad than that.

Sure it was nerve wrecking at first, but at least he got a hint at how everyone's fighting style was like. Hank likes to rush in and kill as much as he can as quickly as possible. Although he loves the sounds of agony the men he crushes make but he'd rather not hear the cocking of a gun aimed at him.

He hates to wait up for people and would rather get the mission settled than to be slowed down. Vienna once complained to Doc that they didn't want to e partnered with Hank again because his moves falter just because he wants to watch Vienna fight. He gets distracted which is so unlike him.

Vienna would try and be as stealthy as possible and also get things done quick. They're usually quiet during missions and rarely uses the radio Doc gave them. They wouldn't leave the base without their spear in hand. On special occasions, Vienna would bring along the Shark pups with them if they needed to go on a long mission.

Sanford would usually be partnered up with Deimos of course. The two make up for each other's weakness, like how Deimos doesn't have the best vigilance and Sanford would have to cover for him, Sanford tends to go a bit overboard sometimes, ruthlessly riping out someone's spine out with nothing but his hook. Deimos finds it hot but not if they're on the clock. They were a pair made in heaven. These two might have been past lovers in their past life, they stuck together ever since they met (Via dessenting and being mutuals with Doc). Yes they didn't get along right off the bat (Like in the previous chapter, Deimos tends to have an obnoxious effect on people at first), but damn did they grow close or what?

Milo hasn't really seen Doc leave the base other than to attend meetings an such but not for missions just yet. He's usually cooped up in his office only coming out for refill on his coffee, he doesn't sleep much, claiming that he doesn't need it. His Employer self might not, but his Grunt body does and god it might just shut down on him any minute. Milo still isn't aware that Doc is an Employer like his previous higher up and maybe it's best if it's kept that way. Sanford said he's the sniper of the group sometimes if Deimos isn't up for the task, but other than that he's the trusted (unlicensed) medic expert of the team.

Milo's still figuring out his fighting style. So far, he's usually behind keeping things clear from the back te best he could. He hasn't gone on his first solo mission yet amd he wonders how that will go.

He hopes he could rely on himself soon and have enough self-esteem to pull through.

He was lost in thought when he was sitting up from lying down so much.

The brunette didn't roll out enough and hit his forehead on the edge of the open truck door. He groaned learning back a little too fast and hit the back of his head on the scooter.

He let's out a pained whine as he held his forehead. Sanford heard him and got up to check. He knelt down to carefully pull Milo to the light to see him better.

"Woah! Miles, what happened?" Sanford asked. "Hit my head... Urgh..." Milo groaned rubbing his forehead.

"Uhm, uh sit up for me," Sanford said hovering a hand behind Milo as he sat up. Milo lowered his hand so that Sanford could examine it. "Ooh, you might need an ice pack for that," Sanford carefully traced his finger over the red spot. Milo winced slightly and rubbed the back of his head.

Sanford stood up, "You got one in your freezer?"

"Of course, it's beside the Rocky roads," Milo said pointing to the left to give Sanford a hint. The larger man nodded, pointing to the couch for Milo to go wait on and made his way to the freezer while the brunette made his way to the couch.

Milo flopped down and winced when the bump at the back of his head made contact with the couch and shot a sudden wave of pain. He grumbled in annoyance and kicked the air in annoyance as he massaged around the spot.

Sanford came back and sat beside Milo. He took the ice pack from his hand but paused when Sanford took his fce in his hands. The chill of the ice pack lingered on his fingers and it made Milo jolt slightly when Sanford held his face.

Sanford turned him to face him so that he could inspect the wound under the better lighting. Milo heard him hum and gently pressed a kiss on the post.

He leaned back and the two made eye contact despite their eyewear. They accidentally stared for a moment before Milo chuckled and smiled softly.

"Really Ford? It's just a bruise," Milo muttered. The other's eyes widened at the realisation. "A-ah! Right, well uhm, sorry! The kids get hurt often so I gotta, ya know do the thing and kiss their wound to make them feel better y-ya know? And well uh it kinda became a habit," Sanford stammered out of embarrassement, red coating his face.

"Aww, you're so sweet. I appreciate it though, I do feel a little better," Milo cooed. Sanford blushed redder and glanced away and covered his face.

Milo just chuckled and pressed the ice pack to his forehead.

"I'll have to admit, I never thought I'd see you with kids," Milo confessed. "What makes you say that?" Sanford asked lowering his hands slightly.

"I thought that you'd thought they'd be such a hassle to raise. Especially at a time like this, with all this... Madness going on," Milo said.

"Well, I had no choice! I found those kids all scared and alone, some were abandoned, lost their parent slash caretaker. How could I not? I haven't gotten the time to ask Doc for any orphanages that could take them and I didn't have the heart to abandon them again. I get attached easily," Sanford admits.

"Okay, but have you ever thought that 10 is way too many?" Milo raised an eyebrow.

"Everyone says that,"

"Are they wrong?"

"I really don't know, but I think they are," Sanford shrugged.

Milo just nodded and slowly leaned against the couch making sure he wouldn't feel the sting. "Well, thanks anyway. I think I'm going to close up shop," Milo said grabbing the remote for the garage.

As the door began to roll down Sanford nods and got up to leave. He looked over his shoulder for a moment and got the switch for him. "Alright, good night Milo," He quietly murmured before he closed the door behind him.

The brunette mumbled back before before throwing their blanket over himself and got comfortable with the ice pack on his forehead.

'~Eheheh, not my longest chapter I know. I'm sorry, ran out of words to put in here~'
