'~Just a study on how Milo interacts with the crew! Also, Deimos' bully arc starts here. Fucking jackass.~'

Milo was getting used to the new base and teammates. He still kept confusing the kids though. He didn't expect Sanford to be the type to like kids. Well, there was a thought but Milo thought it was ridiculous. Like, come on. Are you willing to put through innocent children's life at stake when you come back barely alive every day?

Imagine you were an average grunt, you weren't working for the AAHW nor the Status Quo. You somehow made a family, but then you did something that results in you dying.

You don't have a special medic that can retrieve you from Purgatory with ease. You're done for, it's the end of the line for you. You can't go back, no matter how many times you try to get back to your body. You're soul is probably hellbound considering all the things you've done to survive, even if it was to provide for your family.

What would your children do? What if they didn't have a second guardian?

Milo couldn't bare the thought of abandoning a child of his own. He never intended to have one, but if he had to he doubted that he'd ever let it die. It would be a hell lot of responsibility, to take care of another one of your own but Milo would try his best.

Still, he hoped he didn't have to take care of another life. He couldn't even fight for himself!

But, the brunette couldn't help but feel the need to help Sanford. Help Sanford take care of the kids he adopted. It was none of his business on why Sanford adopted them, especially so many. He didn't want to question it to not sound rude.

Even if Sanford had Deimos to help him out, Milo had a few thoughts about the smoker. Firstly, he well,  smoked. Sure he doesn't smoke in front of the kids, but he reeks of tobacco and Milo wonders what the kids think of it.

Second, he can be pretty reckless at times. How he pokes at his most dangerous colleagues on purpose just to be chased out of their territory is pretty troublesome.

Thirdly, he's sort of a bad influence to the kids. His smoking addiction and how he would spit out lewd comments to Sanford without realising that the kids were around. Some would be confused but some that knew what it meant would either tell him off or cringe in silence.

But, other than that, Milo could tell Deimos genuinely cares about the kids. They do call him Papa afterall.

Milo was glad that Sanford had a good partner. One that took responsibility with the kids and not pushing them aside, not wanting to do with anything with them.

The kids really liked Milo too! They often ask him questions to learn more about him.

Sometimes, a few of them would wander into his garage and assist him. Nothing complicated, but fetching him tool or just keep him company. Milo got attached to the kids pretty fast and would try not to act too parent-like to them. They already had dads anyway. He acted more like a fun uncle to them by giving them ice cream whenever they behaved well.

Vienna would keep Milo company sometimes too just so that he could get used to them. They would usually sit on his couch and chat with him whie he tunes up their vehicles or while he's on break.

So Milo and Vienna's friendship was going smoothly. Already pretty comfortable with one another.

Milo would try his best not to interact with Hank but also not in a rude way. He'd silently slip out of the room Hank was in. Or maybe he'd just keep quiet as much as possible to not piss him off.

That time when Milo was chilling with Vienna in the living room, Milo was somewhat in the middle of the couch and he didn't notice Hank approaching.

The blak clad mercenary sat down beside him, the couch dipped (or hell even tilted) slightly from his weight causing Milo to accidentally slide towards him. They bumped shoulders and Milo apologized, scrambling to the other end of the couch whilst Vienna was try to hold back their laughter to the point of tearing up.

Hank didn't care at all and tried to sign a small apology but Milo had started to fidget with the hem of the coat with shaky hands.

Hank was unsure if Milo knew sign language and thought that he might think it the wrong way. He just shifted in his seat and zoned out. He was originally going to try and ask Vienna out on a date again but he didn't want Milo to see his little alter ego that was sole purpose was to simp over their colleague that absolutely hated that persona. He thought it was an Enemies-To-Lovers Esque kind of thing going on. Despite them not being genuine enemies whatsoever.

Milo had went to Doc's office a couple of times to ask a few questions. A few occasions where he would visit his office to check up on him when Milo noticed how grumpier Doc would be.

Doc appreciated the rookie's concern, the others did share their concerns for Doc but they mostly kept quiet about it to not accidentally aggravate him or something. The only other one that was usually the one to make sure he was taking care of himself before Milo came along was Sanford.

Sanford and Milo weren't that different afterall, Doc had thought.

But Milo and Deimos' interactions have been pretty uncomfortably tense.

You know those times where theres these two best friends and then person A has gotten an S/O and person B secretly thinks that they aren't good enough for them but is still happy for them. B and C (A's S/O) try to befriend one another but it just doesn't really work out. So there are times where B and C would fight behind A's back, whether or not C is good enough for A or something like that?

Yeah, that's their kind of dynamic right now. Milo didn't have anything against Deimos up until the bastard had suddenly been shooting glares at him whenever he was having a casual conversation with him. Maybe they were being a little too loud? Milo tried not to think of it, but then came the bantering. Where it's actually just Deimos calling Milo rude stuff like Nerd' (how original) or just outright insult him.

Milo had told Sanford how Deimos semed to really not like him but Sanford told him to just ignore it.
"He's just a mischievous little gremlin, you'll get used to his absurdity sooner or later," Sanford said whilst patting Milo's shoulder.

Milo nodded and tried his best to be patient with Deimos, maybe the guy really was just trying to banter with him, yeah. Maybe Sanford was right, maybe Deimos was just trying to befriend Milo his own way.

Speaking of training, Doc had told Milo to start training now that he may need to start going on missions with the others soon.

There were times where Sanford would wake Milo up way early in the morning and drag Milo down to the basement to train.

Milo was pretty rusty at first, but he had to really practice his dodging skills. The time Sanford was testing Milo's reflexes by chucking miscellaneous items over him amd Sanford told him to duck. Milo's first instinct was to say where. In the end he got a rolled up styrofoam mat to the face an stumbled backwards, tripping over some random dumbbells.

Deimos was there and he couldn't stop laughing, he didn't even try to help him up or anything. Sanford did glare at him but helped Milo up.

There were times Deimos would steal Milo's equipment and Milo would try and ask for it back as nicely as possible, but it ends up with him needing to chase Deimos around. Milo wondered how Deimos could run so fast and for so long considering his smoking habits. Milo didn't know anyone that could get on his nerves so easily like Deimos did.

Milo tried his best not to take anything he says to heart because they were just words anyway. It's not like they could leave a mark, right?

'~Sorry this chapter didn't get much dialogue, again it's a little study anyway. See ya in the next chapter!~'
