"hey guys, how are you doing?!" donghyuck exclaimed excitedly as he noticed his group of friends waiting for him to get out of the super m van in front of the school.
"hello, hyuck!" chenle waved at him. "jaemin told us the manager fetched you up super early today."
"yeah, we had a meeting for a few interviews and shows, but nothing major." donghyuck shrugged it off.
"are you going to participate in those?" jeno asked.
donghyuck nodded. "most of them, yeah. and lucas and i even have a special couple thing for us only in a few days."
the seven boys stayed silent for a few seconds, exchanging glances.
"doesn't it bother you too much?" jaemin asked.
"appearing on tv or on reality shows? yeah, it does, but i got used to it..." the tanned male explained.
"no, we meant... with lucas." renjun specified.
"oh, yeah, it's perhaps going to be a bit more stressing because it will be just him and i, and usually i relay on the six other members too, but i won't be able to do that." donghyuck chuckled. "god, i still can't realise that i'll have as much screentime and visibility as lucas..."
"that's... still not what we meant..." renjun repeated, making donghyuck frown.
"oh... what did you mean then?"
renjun faced his younger boyfriend, nudging his shoulder for him to talk.
they all knew that within this group of friends, jaemin was the closest to donghyuck since they were best friends since forever, and they were at the origin of this big group of friends.
"we..." jaemin coughed. "we were wondering if pretending you were lucas' boyfriend wasn't too bothering for you..."
"huh." donghyuck hummed. "well... i... i got used to it... it's not as hard as it was before."
"and how does mark take it?" jisung questioned.
"mark?" donghyuck raised a brow.
"yeah. how does he take the fact that his boyfriend is in a public relationship with another idol?"sungchan completed.
"he knows it's fake, so... so there's no problem with us. plus, lucas and i barely hold hands or kiss each other's cheeks when we're in public. and at the dorms, i stay with mark most of the time."donghyuck explained, making his friends hum.
"i'm so sorry you have to live such a thing, donghyuck. i sincerely am." jeno stated, placing a comforting hand on his friend's shoulder.
"we all are, actually." shotaro added.
"yeah, you shouldn't be living such an awful thing. you don't deserve any of it." chenle nodded.
"thank you, guys." donghyuck flashed a sincere smile at his friends. "but we can't do anything about it..."
"hyuck, i'm sure we can find a solution..." jaemin assured.
"we can't." donghyuck shook his head. "that's how the idol world is. full of lies that make giant companies earn money. and once again, we can't do anything about it except deal with it..."
