Two days had passed, and the day had come. Robin had showed up 10 minutes earlier, much to the dismay of a groggy Steve. Nancy showed up exactly on the dot, and Eddie was 10 minutes late, and looked like he had just rolled out of bed.

"Well, we're all here, so what's the plan?" Nancy asked, holding a duffle bag in one arm and a sleeping bag in the other.

"So! I brought a map, and my thought was we can trade off driving so that we don't have to stop as much. There's a place not super far from here that has a nice forested area and I think some water or something we can go swimming in." Robin said, handing Steve a map.

"No more fucking lakes, I swear to god. I've got the car packed with food and shit for the way there and back, along with a first aid kit and some sunscreen. Give me your guy's crap and I'll put it in the back." Steve said, rubbing the bridge of his nose.

"Thanks, Mom!" Eddie chimed in, dropping his backpack by the car and throwing an arm around Steve.

"Don't.. Call me that, idiot." Steve said, stepping away from him. Robin chuckled, and took hers and Nancy's stuff to the car as well. Robin began packing the car in a disorganized manner, attempting to stack things that definitely shouldn't be stacked, causing a bag to tumble out onto the ground, spilling some of it's contents, including a bag of weed. Steve, seeing the bag, glared at Eddie, who just shrugged.

"Look, it helps with my pain, alright? I'm not gonna get stoned off my ass, I promise." Eddie said, holding his hands up in defense.

"Yeah, sure. Alright, everyone but Eddie can drive my car." Steve said, and Eddie feigned shock while the girls laughed. Steve took over organizing the car, while the two girls got into the back. Bags and various items now neatly organized into the back, he shut the back and hopped into the driver seat, to find Eddie seated next to him.

"Oh great, I get to sit next to you."

"Aw come on, you know you love me!"

Steve didn't reply, just turning on the car, and beginning the journey ahead of them.

About an hour into the drive, Robin and Nancy had both passed out, sleeping on each other's shoulders, and Eddie was eating some chips he had brought with him. Steve looked out at the road, and sighed.

"So.. Harrington. Tell me your story."

Steve looked at Eddie, who was still munching on his chips.

"What does that mean?"

"What do you think it means? Like, your past and shit. Your childhood and high school and shit."

He stared out for a bit, thinking about it. He wasn't exactly thrilled to have this conversation with Eddie, but it wasn't like there was much else to do, with the two girls cuddled up in the back.

"Well, for one, my name is Steve, so call me that first and foremost. As for my story, I guess I'm your average guy, I got a mom and a dad who don't really like me and I don't really like them. High school, I was a Grade-A douche, but luckily now I'm just a slightly less douchey guy. Your turn, Munson. What's the story behind the metal loving, drug dealing metalhead who my kids seem to like so much?" Steve said, looking out the window at the world, and then back to the road. Eddie nodded, and seemed to genuinely want to know, which was a surprise to Steve. After all, up to that point, he seemed to not really take much seriously.

"Munson, how formal! You can call me Eddie, though, we're friends. I guess my story is a bit boring, I was raised by my uncle, didn't really know either of my parents, so I guess they couldn't really dislike me all that much. And I'm your typical 3 time high school senior, not exactly like you, moreso the school freak. But hey, I'm gonna graduate this year and it's gonna be great." He said, looking slightly solemn when talking about his family, but immediately shifting back to his dorky, positive self. Steve nodded, realizing that maybe Eddie wasn't such a freak after all.

"Anyways, can I call you Stevie? Like Stevie Wonder? Ooh, or Steven? Okay, hear me out, how about Stevo? Eh? You like that one?"

Nevermind, he was still the same freak. Just maybe a little more tolerable than before. He rolled his eyes, not wanting to dignify his stupidity with a response. Suddenly, a little yelp came from the backseat, and the two glanced back to see that Robin had woken up, though Nancy still slept peacefully, a slight smile on her face.

"Guys! What do I do?" She whispered nervously.

"What do you mean, what do you do? It's just Nancy." Steve said, seeing her nervous blush.

"Yeah but she's.. Y'know! And she's leaning on my shoulder!"

"Aw, you got a crush on her, Robin?" Eddie teased, and Steve furrowed his brow.

"Does he know?" He asked Robin, and she nodded. It was a bit surprising that this random guy knew about her secret, but he dismissed it.

"And no, I do not! But a pretty girl on your shoulder is more than my brain can handle at this very moment, thank you very much." She retorted, "Not like you would know, Eddie, I don't see you getting all the girls now, are you?" Robin looked at Eddie, sharing a knowing look. Eddie just chuckled, nodding.

"Ah, you've got me there, Robin. I am in fact, maidenless. Such sorrow it is, to remain alone, woe is me." Eddie said dramatically, leaning into Steve, who pushed him away.

"Get off of me, you nerd." He said jokingly, having warmed up slightly to the guy. Robin noticed his lack of tension and apprehension, and took note of it, just in case.

"Anyways, wanna switch?" Robin asked, sensing they were about half way there.

"Yeah, let me pull over and you and Nancy can take the front. That way, Eddie can't control the radio any more." Steve says, smirking.

"Hey, I'm sorry you just don't have good taste, you normie."

"Did you seriously just call me a- nevermind."

The car pulled to the side of the road, and Steve hopped out, going over to the side Eddie was on.

"Aw, did you come to help me out? What a gentleman." Eddie said, as Steve held out a hand to help him out.

"No, I just know you'd probably figure out a way to get hit by a car and I don't wanna deal with that. Get in the car, idiot." Steve says, opening the door for him as he laughs, getting in. He winced slightly, the scar still bothering him.

Meanwhile, Robin tapped Nancy's shoulder, who sleepily looked up at Robin.

"Oh... Oh! I am so sorry Robin, I guess I just got tired and fell asleep I am so sorry!"

"Oh don't worry, I don't mind it at all, well I mean not that I liked it just that I didn't mind that you fell asleep cause I didn't mind that at all!"

"Oh my gosh you two, just get out already." Steve interjected, and the two got out of the car, Robin hopping in the driver side, and Nancy in the passenger.

"The map's on the dash. I am gonna try to get some sleep, so don't be too loud please." Steve sighed tiredly.

"Aw, would you like to sleep on my shoulder? I am here if you want to, sweetheart." Eddie suggested jokingly.

"Not in a million years, dumbass." Steve replied, leaning to the opposite side and closing his eyes.

"Your loss." Eddie said, opening a notebook and beginning to doodle. With everyone now buckled in, Robin started the car and off they went.
