Chapter Twenty Nine

I heard El start screaming so I ran in the house and El was in Mike's arms while her nose and her ears were bleeding. She was crying as everyone was trying to calm her down. It took awhile but we finally calmed her down enough for her to tell us what happened. I guess when she was looking at the memories that Billy was showing her she came back to the house and everyone was gone and Billy walked out of her room and started telling her how he can see her now, how they can all see her now and that he built this for her it was all for her. He then started talking about how he's going to end her and the going to end all of us.

"Wait he was here right? In the cabin?" Nancy asked El and she nodded her head "He knows that we're here then." That's not fucking good. Will brought his hand up to his neck and shivered "He knows we're here." Fireworks were still going off but I could hear something else, something growling. "Guys... do you hear that?" I said as I walked closer to the window "It's just the fireworks y/n." Jonathan said trying to reassure me but he's wrong. It wasn't just the fireworks. Nancy got up and walked next to me when suddenly all the trees started to move.

"Do you see that?" She nodded her head and walked out the door and the rest of us followed her. Not far down the road where the trees were shaking a giant monster was pushing its way through the tree but it wasn't just some random giant monster, it's the same monster Will drew last year. It's the mind flayer. Me and the kids started barricading all windows while Nancy got a gun from the shed and Jonathan grabbed an axe that was in a tree stump that I'm assuming Hopper had just recently cut before he went MIA. Once Nancy and Jonathan got inside we covered up the front door.

All of us stood in the middle of the room in a circle waiting for the mind flayer. The lights were lightly flickering and you could hear rumbling with each step it took. Glasses started to fall and shatter and then everything went silent. "Where did it go?" Max asked while we were all looking in every possible direction. Out of no where this weird slimy arm thing broke a part of the wall and came at me, Max, El, and Lucas and we all moved up against the wall. Jonathan used his axe and hit the arm which made a gash in the arm but it hit Jonathan and swung him back and he hit a china cabinet and fell to the ground.

The arm came flying at him like it was going to attack Jonathan but Nancy started shooting it. Nancy went to shoot it again but she was all out of bullets and the arm came flying at her, oh and keep in mind that this arm has like an arcade claw machine claw thing at the end so when it opens it up it has sharp teeth like it's a mouth. El stopped it from getting fully into Nancy's face and the arm was shrieking in pain. It pulled back away from Nancy and El made the mouth part of the arm rip off and when the mouth fell onto the ground it started crawling away. The other half of the arm went back outside through the hole in the wall it made.

Two more of the arms came busting through different parts of the house and El stopped them from attacking her and did the same thing to them that she did to the one that almost attacked Nancy. It was quiet for a second when out of no where another arm busted through the roof and grabbed El's leg and started pulling her up. This wasn't just an arm like the other ones though. It led to the mouth of the mind flayer. Me, Jonathan, Mike, and Will were all trying to pull El back down and Nancy was shooting the mind flayer in its mouth. Lucas got up on a stool and cut the arm which caused it to drop El.

When she got down onto the floor me and Mike pulled the claw part off of El leg while she was screaming in pain as I flung it into the wall as hard as I could and it yelped and crawled away. The mind flayer growled at us as El stood up and limped her was closer to it. She put her hands up and started screaming as she made the mind flayer close its mouth and even split its head in half. It damaged it but didn't kill it. We grabbed El and all of us ran to Nancy's car and we all got in and was screaming as Nancy pressed on the gas.

We stopped at a gas station that was right down the road so we could clean and bandage El's leg. When we got out the car I grabbed a rock and threw it at the glass doors which caused them to break and we walked in. Mike and Max were helping El walk as we all made our way over to the first aid/ medical stuff elsie. They sat El down as Nancy grabbed gauze and rubbing alcohol, Max was quick to stop her when she was about to put rubbing alcohol on a wound that was still gushing blood.

"We have to stop the bleeding then clean and then bandage. Trust me I ride skateboards. I fall." She grabbed the gauze out of Nancy's hand and place it on El's wound "Mike press down on this hard and firmly." Mike did as she said and then she turned to Nancy and Jonathan "I need soap and water." They nodded their heads and went off to go find water and soap. "Y/n please go be on lookout, I would prefer to not also have to be running from the cops right now." I got up and walked to the glass doors that I previously broken.

The kids were supposed to be enjoying their Fourth of July, lighting fireworks and going to the funfair. Not fighting the mind flayer and almost dying. I didn't think about Billy until now, my mind was so distracted with everything and all the adrenaline to think about Billy. I looked down at Billy's ring that was reflecting the colorful flashes from the fireworks. He'll make it through this I hope. I want to have faith I truly do but I know that I'm just not wanting to accept reality. I need to be honest with myself.

Everyone started running full speed at me and Max grabbed my hand and pulled me along. We all got into the car and no one told me anything during the whole car ride and then we got to the bright neon signs that said Starcourt. Why the hell are we at Starcourt. I followed everyone's lead as we went up to the second floor. The whole first floor had random men pacing back and forth with guns. El started to slowly pick up a red car that was in the mall for one of those weird raffle things where you could win a car. This got all the mens attention and they all came together and walked closer to the car that's when El flung the car which hit all the men and crushed them against the wall.

In the juice/smoothie shop Four heads popped up from behind the counter, Dustin, Steve, Robin, and Erica. I pushed past everyone and ran down the escalator and ran to Dustin and Steve. I pulled them into a group hug and I couldn't control the tears that were running down my face. The rest of the group got to us and I pulled away from the two boys. I asked Steve what the hell happened because his face was all busted up and he explained the Russians did it and those guys that El crushed were Russian and they cracked the code and a whole bunch of other stuff.

None of us noticed that El had walked a couple feet away until she fell to the ground and we all ran to her side "El what's wrong!" Mike yelled at her while freaking out "My leg. My leg." She sounded like she was going unconscious, I pulled up her pant leg and took off the gauze and we all looked at the wound when suddenly we saw something moving inside which caused El to scream. Me and Jonathan ran to the juice shop and grabbed what we needed to get that thing out of her leg. We came back to the group and El leaned back into Mike's arm.

"Here bite on this because this is going to hurt like a bitch." I handed her the wooden spoon and she put it in her mouth me and Jonathan slipped on gloves and I held her leg down as he grabbed the knife and cut open he wound a bit more to make more room for whatever was inside her leg. He stuck his hand in her wound and she was screaming in pain I only allowed this to continue on for two seconds more before I started telling Jonathan to stop but he didn't listen El yelled at him to stop and Nancy pulled him back.

"I can do it, I can do it." El said as she leaned up so she could fully see her leg. She held her hand out towards her leg and started screaming from the pain and from using her powers. The glass windows of a store shattered behind us and she continued on screaming as she got the thing out. It was a part of the mind flayer. She threw it about 10 feet away and someone stomped on it which made all of our eyes go to them. Joyce, Hopper, and some white guy who looked crazy.
