Izzy's POV

Why am I so nervous about looking good for today? Oh yeah, cause I'm about to tell my best friend I love him.

I don't have to worry about whether he feels it back but there is still a knot in my stomach. What if he's decided this is too messy or too much trouble? I shake the thought from my head.

Today is not about that, I chide myself. Today is about Richelle and Noah getting married. It's about new beginnings. A small smile graces my lips, And maybe we'll get ours.

I put the finishing touches on my make-up and adjust the skirt of my pinafore dress. My cream long sleeve top fits perfectly to my waist, sitting just below the waistband of my dress. This is the most feminine I've dressed in a long time but the light and dark grey plaid of the pinafore makes me feel more like myself. Paired with my cherry red Docs, I feel pretty, strong and confident.

A jingling noise echoes from the front door and I hear the door creak open. Walking out of the bathroom, I feel ready to rock this wedding. As I wander out into the living room, the air catches in my lungs. Heath is casually standing near the hallway, rolling up the sleeves of his white button-up shirt. It pulls tight over his chest and is tucked loosely into his grey dress pants.

Walking over to him, I smile softly.

"Hi."

"Hi."

His smile is warm but tentative and I can't help but wrap him in a tight hug.

"I missed you," I whisper against his neck. He just rubs my back gently in response, squeezing my shoulder blade lightly. Pulling away, I notice his collar is now askew. I fix it, but now the buttons aren't sitting right. I undo one button and smooth out the front of his shirt, my hands resting lightly under his collarbones when they're done.

I take a step back from him and look him over once more. "Damn boy, you look good!"

Heath's neck heats up at that, but he returns the favour, his eyes slowly taking in my appearance.
