It's been a few months since Luke moved to town. Things have been getting better at school with Luke around but he can't protect me from everything.

My brother still torments me. My mother is letting her boyfriend beat her because they are "In Love" and just have a funny way of showing it.

God I can't stand it. There's something seriously wrong with is world.

Not being able to stand the muffled sobs from next door I take my new phone which mom made Calum pay for, (Serves the bitch right.) and ran outside to my front yard.

I sat on the porch swing and texted Luke.

B- You should come over. My moms boyfriend is here. :/

L- Mom won't let me go anywhere but you should come here. :)

B- Okay I'll be there in 5.

L- Meet you halfway.

I grabbed my phone and headed off in the direction of his house. It turned out he lived just down the street.

I saw a hooded giraffe figure at the streetlight and ran towards it. "LUCIFER!" I yelled and jumped onto his back.

"Hey little bird." He said gripping the underneath of my thighs.

This was a tradition that we created within the last month. We would meet each other at the corner light and I would sprint and jump onto Luke's back. I don't know how it started but it did.

Luke carried me through the front door still on his back. His mom was in the kitchen cooking what looked like spaghetti. "Mom we're back." Luke said standing in the doorway ducking so my head wouldn't hit the door frame. "Hey Bird how are you honey?" Liz asked me.

"I'm good momma Liz. How are you?" I politely responded climbing off of Luke's back. "I'm good, would you like to eat dinner with us?" She smiled stirring the sauce. I looked to Luke, he nudged me as a yes. "I would love to." I said shaking slightly.  Luke knows that I don't eat much, my one meal a day being a small lunch.

"Good. It will be ready in a bout a hour." She smiled turning back to the stove. Luke grabbed my arm and lead me up the stairs and into his room. He shut his door and I flopped onto his bed. "I don't want to eat Luke. I already ate today." I whined into the sheets as he crawled onto the bed beside me. "Bird. Look at me." He lifted my chin to face him. "You need to eat. you're basically skin and bone." Luke tried to reason. We have had this battle before.

"Fine." I sighed. I'll just won't eat tomorrow.

For the next hour Luke and I laid in his bed watching American Horror Story. I was cuddled into Luke's side all comfortable when his mom called us for dinner. Luke got up pulling me with him.

We walked down the stairs seeing Liz and Lilah already seated at the table. "Hey Bird." Lilah greeted with a smile. Over the last month Lilah and I have also become friends. Not as well as Luke and I but still. "Hey Lilah." I said sitting beside her.

Luke Sat across from us. I put a small spoonful of spaghetti on my plate with some sauce. Liz looked at me. "Is that all you're going to eat dear?" She said examining my plate.

"I don't eat very much." I said looking down at my lap not even wanting to try to eat now. "Okay, Well if you're still hungry after there's plenty." She said with a smile. I smiled back and picked up the fork. Every bite i took was forced but I finally finished my meal. the spaghetti was good but I still felt like I was going to puke. I normally don't eat this much. My stomach cant handle it.

"Dinner was very good momma Liz. Thank you for inviting me." I said politely taking my plate to the sink. She got up behind me taking hers as well. "You're quite welcome sweetie. You kids run along now. I'll get the dishes." She smiled shooing Luke, Lilah and I. Luke grabbed my arm and pulled me upstairs.

"Luke..." I whined holding my stomach. "What's wrong?" He asked walking up to me and putting his arms around me. "My tummy hurts." I said trying to keep the spaghetti in my stomach. It wasn't working. I broke Luke's embrace and ran into his bathroom emptying the contents of my stomach into the toilet. I felt my hair being lifted off my neck and turned to see a worried Luke.

"You don't have to be in here." I said trying to catch my breath as I wiped the tears from my face. I always cry when I throw up because it scares me. "No it's okay," He said patting my back. "I want to be here." he sat on the floor with me braiding my hair. "Thank you." I managed to get out before getting rid of the rest of my stomachs contents.

Once I was done Luke helped me up and I got rid of the vile substance. He gave me a toothbrush and my bag I brought. I brushed my teeth and changed into the t-shirt and boxers he gave me while he did something in his room. When I finished I took my anti-depressants and sealed them back into my bag. I walked into Luke's room not expecting the pillow fort that was planted in front of his computer.

"What's all this for Luke? I asked examining the fort. He looked up at me, not expecting me to be out so quickly. "Oh, um... I made a fort for us to watch movies in." He explained shyly. I walked over to it and crawled in getting comfy. Luke stood across the room looking me up and down. "Luke what are you doing?" I asked uncomfortably. He snapped out of his gaze and crawled into the fort with me.

"What movie first Scream or Oujia?" He asked holding out the dvds. I groaned. "Luke you know i hate scary movies." He looked at me with a smirk. "You did this on purpose!" I exclaimed smacking his arm. "Okay then Scream it is." He smiled raising the arm that I hit. I rolled my eyes and laid back in the fort pouting. He pressed play on the movie and laid back with me.

Within the first 10 minutes of the movie I was hiding my face into Luke's chest. I HATE scary movies. He stroked my hair continuing to watch the movie. My eyes started to get heavy. The last thing I heard before I fell asleep was someone asking about a favorite scary movie.
