Chapter 3

I woke up to a loud crash. I sprang up instantly with wide eyes. I looked around to see Luke on the ground. "What happened?" I asked rubbing my eyes. He got up awkwardly and picked up his phone that was across the room from him. "Oh um I tripped?" he said as more as a question. He examined his phone probably to make sure it wasn't cracked. "You're such a klutz" I said giggling as I crawled out of the fort. "Hey!" He exclaimed crossing his arms. "I'm not that much of a klutz." He said tripping over his own feet walking to me. I giggled."Okay maybe I am." He blushed looking down.

"Come on clumsy lets go to the mall today. I need new clothes." I said grabbing a pair of sweats and a t-shirt from his drawer. "Birddddddddddd." He whined. "Can you please spare me for today?" He said flopping onto his bed face down. "No I need your help and don't turn around." I said pulling his shirt over my head and replacing it with the new one. He groaned and cuddled a pillow.

"I don't wanna go." He whined. I crawled onto the bed and sat next to him poking him repeatedly. "Pweaseee LUKEYYYY." I pulled a pouty face. He turned around groaning. He ran his hand over his face.

"Fine." He finally caved. I squealed and pulled him out of bed and to his closet. He sat down on the floor as I searched through his closet.

"Here wear this." I smiled handing him a Blink-182 shirt and a pair of black skinnies. I went over and sat at his desk as he pulled his shirt over his head replacing it with his new one.

"Where was this picture taken?" I asked looking at a picture of his mom and dad under a boardwalk.

"Oh um, I think under the Santa Monica Pier." He said struggling to pull on his pants. I giggled and stood up.

"Here lemme help you." I laughed holding the belt loops. "Jump." I said pulling on his pants as he did. He seamed uncomfortable as he had to jump a few more times before his pants were all the way on.

"There." I breathed out patting his chest. I felt his breath on my forehead. I looked up at him. His face was inches from mine. He kept glancing between my eyes and my lips.

I didn't realize I was leaning in until our lips were connected and moving in sync. My fingers entangled themselves in his hair. His hands griped the back of my thighs. "Jump." he told me breaking the kiss. I obeyed reconnecting our lips. He backed us into the door pressing me up against it. He licked my lip begging for entrance but the offer was denied by the knock on the door behind me.

We quickly broke apart desperately trying to compose ourselves. "One second." Luke shouted as he made sure we looked like normal. I walked over and sat on his bed on my phone acting casual.

"Yes?" He asked opening the door to reveal his mother. She looked at me surprised to see me still here. "Oh hey Bird. I didn't know you stayed." She smiled. I put my phone down.

"Yes ma'am I hope that was okay. It was late and Luke I fell asleep during the movie and..." I started to explain but she cut me off smiling. "No dear it's perfectly fine. You're welcome here anytime." I smiled thanking her for being so kind.

"So mum what did you need?" Luke asked questioning the reason why she was knocking on his door. "Oh sorry. I was just letting you know I was going to run errands and I'll be back later." She smiled.

"Okay. Bye love you." He said kissing her cheek. "I love you too." She replied hugging him. I smiled at the mother, son moment. Then Liz turned to me. "I'll see you soon Bird." She smiled hugging me. I gladly returned the hug and and a quiet 'you too'.

She straitened her clothes saying one more goodbye and walking down the stairs.

I turned back to look at Luke feeing an awkwardness between us. He was looking down at his shoes and playing with his lip ring.

I sighed walking back into his room and getting my shoes. "So are we still on for the mall?" I asked finishing tying my shoes. "Um. Yeah." He answered messing with his keys.

I sighed walking out the door.

This is going to be a long drive...

Anyways I read this book and in the author notes at the end she would tell you to type something with her eyes closed. It was fun and cool so I decided to start it!
