~ Chapter two ~
Episode two: the weirdo on maple street
The sound of a car pulling out of the driveway sent Ivy flying off the side of her bed, relief on her face when she realised that it was her parents and she wasn't infact going to be late for school and the car wasn't her brother leaving without her. When she turned Leo was still drooling all over her notes. She kicked the bed and jolted him awake.
"Shit, we fell asleep" he said with one eye still stuck shut.
"We have an hour before school starts, I'm showering first. You..." she pointed to the notes, "more studying"
He rolled his eyes and flipped her off before picking up one of her notebooks. Ivy jumped in the shower and then quickly dried her hair and put on some makeup, coming back into her room Leo was pacing back and forward.
"Ives, nothings going in" he looked over to her with wide eyes, "I think my brains finally snapped, nothings fucking going in" he pointed to his head.
"Your just tired, go shower" she started to put her clothes on and got out a stack of Leo's clothes he kept at her house for emergencies.
When he came back in he looked more relaxed, he changed and they both went downstairs followed shortly by Steve who was frowning at the immaculate state of the kitchen as the girl poured coffee into two travel mugs. She eyed her brother suspiciously.
"What?" She asked looking at his frown.
"You normally make a mess, where's my bagel?" he looked over to her his eyes like saucers.
"We overslept" she said as Leo came out of the living room.
"We?" Steve frowned again.
"We" Leo stated putting his head on Steve's shoulder immediately being pushed off.
"How many times do I have to push your head off before you stop doing that?" Steve swatted his arm.
"I just can't help it, your the perfect height for a head rest" he grinned charmingly before taking a sip of coffee.
"Don't need a ride this morning, obviously" Ivy said pulling Leo passed her brother and out the front door.
"Don't forget I'm having people over tonight!" Steve called after her.
When they were halfway to school Leo looked over to Ivy with a pointed look on his face, "your having a party and didn't tell me?"
"No party and not me" she said as she blew the smoke of her cigarette out of the car window. "He's having like three friends come over because mom and dad are out of town" she shrugged.
"Of course they go out of town the night I have plans" he groaned.
"You have plans" Ivy pouted, "I was gonna get high and watch horror movies with you" she said as if she'd already told him about it which she hadn't.
"Well me and Jonathan were supposed to be getting dinner but given recent events now we're hanging missing posters and I'm gonna help him search for Will" he gave her an apologetic smile, "why don't you see if eddies free?"
"Have you ever tried to watch a horror movie with Eddie, he's scared shitless of all that shit. He can't even watch a slasher flick without screaming" she half giggled at the memory of the last time she forced Eddie to watch the Texas chainsaw massacre and he didn't sleep for a week.
When they got to school everyone was talking about Will Byers going missing, everywhere Ivy turned, she felt so bad for him and the Byers family. She couldn't imagine how she'd reacted if it was her brother that just vanished into thin air, even if her brother was an asshole who she wished would vanish sometimes.
