The next day, quite late in the evening, Obi-Wan contacted Satine again to inform her of the Council's decision. The Jedi wanted to speak with Phoenix beforehand, and to that end they were expecting her at the Temple of Coruscant earlier this week; the time for them to finish their various assignments which kept them away from the center of the republic.

A few days later at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant

Phoenix looked with great apprehension at the old Jedi who was about to stick a needle in her arm: "Why this test again? »

The old woman stopped her gesture and looked at the teenager, smiling peacefully: "We need to evaluate your midi-chlorian level. It was Obi-Wan who requested this test."

"Midi what?"

"Mi di Chlo rian... they are microscopic beings that are present in the blood of individuals who are Force-sensitive. The higher the rate, the more powerful that person is with the Force", the old woman explained patiently.

-What is the highest rate you have seen?

-Personally; it's Obi Wan's young padawan: Anakin Skywalker. His rate was well over 20,000. That's the highest I've seen since I've been in the temple.

Phoenix, not knowing if she should be amazed by this revelation, decided to show some admiration for the words that the Jedi had just revealed to her.

"He must be really powerful; he is surely the pride of the Jedi Order".

To her astonishment the Jedi shook her head. "He is powerful indeed, but far too impetuous and unbalanced in the Force. If he gets carried away, it will ruin him and I fear the entire Order won't recover; there are so much hopes placed in him."

Before the teenager asked her any more questions, the old lady pulled down her sleeve signaling that she was done. Of course Phoenix could have read her thoughts to learn more about this famous Anakin, but her mother had made her promise not to use her powers just to satisfy her curiosity.

A clearing of the throat snapped her out of her thoughts. The same guard who had led her to the medical bay was again standing by her side: "I will lead you to the council chamber".

Phoenix followed him without a word in the maze of quiet and deserted corridors of the temple. They passed near a room which must have been a place of meditation; she could not help perceiving, despite the silence, the concentrated thoughts of their possessors. And among them, she knew, there was a certain togruta. She felt her warmth in her mind like a familiar glow. She couldn't help smiling as she followed the guard who led her to the most secluded room of the Temple.

At the same time, Ashoka who was deep in meditation felt a warmth surround her mind. Something known but which she seemed to have forgotten. She opened her eyes abruptly and looked towards the hallway but saw nothing there.

Her master Anakin immediately felt her confusion: "Snipe concentrate on your meditation"

"Master someone just passed by, I have to see..."

"Nope. We are not done. And even if there is someone new at the temple. Surely this does not concern you!"

The young togruta reluctantly went back to her mental exercise but her mind was already miles away.

Finally, Phoenix arrived in the Jedi council chamber.

A round room furnished with leather armchairs surrounding a circular empty space. It was here that the various members of the council met. The guard indicated to the young girl that she should move forward to the center of the room, in the circular space.
