"Dave, let's go!" Jade exclaimed and grabbed her 'boyfriend's arm dragging him over to the more populated dance floor as he begrudgingly followed.
"Oh, fine." He replied allowing he to take her own course. They were friends for years and were now told they'd have to marry, got to love the irony in that. Except it wasn't, because he was falling in love with her- her smile an boundless energy were part of that.
"Great!" She smiled revealing her slightly protruding front teeth in her smile making her green eyes shine so much brighter on he dark skin full of little stars gleaming now under the colored lights, this coaxed rare smile on his face as her cheeks warmed.
"You look pretty, I mean pretty good tonight ." He commented- her dark curling hair was kept down thick and alluring, tonight she was wearing a galaxy crop-top and neon green mini skirt that swung this way and that when she walked. Under the lights her eyes seem to glow, then again it always felt as if she was glowing to him, glowing with positivity and wonder.
"Thanks! You're always Great! So want to dance?" She replied and changed the subject.'Sooo swoon-worthy.' She sarcastically thinks, though as cool as he acts she cares more for how he cares about his loved ones and creative mind. After all the inside was what you wanted from a person, and that's what Jade Harley cared about.
"Yeah, if you want to." He replied and she leads him with gentle hands telling him to just let loose and just do what feels right, just like her as she just does what comes to that feels like dancing. He however didn't know what to do.
"Dave? Is it too loud?" She asked brow knit and voice soft.
"No it's fine." He replied, the noise really want fine it was that part of him telling everyone was watching and judging that froze him.
"Don't worry no one's watching just let loose and stop being such a worrywort!" She teased still showing a willingness to leave if he asked.
"Hey!" He protested in fake offense and did try to just let lose a but bit he really never had done this sort of thing because John and Karkat preferred video games or a movie.
"You know you are, so shut up." She shot back and tool his hands again going for a slightly more traditional dance she'd learned for the fun of it one weekend. It was slower and more calming and she suspected it would help.
"No, I'm not I'm cool as a cucumber." He replies and though he feels more words inside him he doesn't share as he's watching her and feeling so damn happy to have here here tonight and for her gentle nature guiding him right now
"Just shut up, and dance for a minute ok?" She ask watching bits of his tension leave him as he calms down as just keep leading him though it even as he steps on her feet or forgets a part.
"Fine, but do you think we should or maybe-" he rambles sure this is how he always is but still being out with her has to have something to do with it. Even so he tried coping some of the others and following a few he's learned awkwardly wondering if this was how to do this and wondering if he was doing it right.
"There we go." She shakes her head," Breathe it's fine you don't have to."
Great." He whispered with a sort of mock bitterness.
"Could you just shut up and dance with me?!" She playfully urged leading him though another step because it was truly entertaining how he was catching on to it.
"No, no can do you're too-" Dave began words dying as she took at step closer wrapping her arms around his neck as he stumbled though the next step due the motion she chuckled quietly.
