Playing with fire

12:30 am I'm awoken to a loud knocking on the door. I pulled on a dressing gown and headed downstairs since the knocking was persistent.
I peeped out the window to see Billy's car.
I sighed and opened the door.
" can I come in " he asked with a bloody face.
" yeah of course " I said worriedly letting him come in and sit on the couch.

I grabbed a wet towel and a medical box.
" what's happened " I ask lifting the towel to wipe the dry blood away.
" just a little fight nothing to worry about, but you're who I wanted too see " he smiled
" this is going to sting a little " I put some rubbing alcohol on a gauze and gently cleaned his cuts.
" shit " he hissed
" I'm sorry " I said brushing my thumb across his cheek
" don't be sorry I appreciate it " he said taking my hand in his.
" do you want to stay the night? " I asked
" if it's no trouble " he said softly.

I lead him upstairs and gave him a pair of oversized joggers and placed his jacket over the back of my chair.
He kicked his boots off and climbed into my bed.
I got in the other side and pulled my blankets over me as he wrapped his arm around me.
He kissed the back of my neck and said goodnight as we both drifted off too sleep.

It was the best sleep I'd had in a while, something about Billy made me feel safe.
When I woke up Billy was still asleep, he looked peaceful and I didn't want to disturb that.
I slowly got out of the bed and went downstairs to make us some breakfast.

10 minutes later Billy came down rubbing his eyes.
" how do you look more beautiful first thing in the mornings " he said smiling walking towards me
" flattery will get you everywhere " I joked
I placed some coffee and pancakes on the table and he sat and joined me too eat.

A few weeks had gone by and Billy had stayed more than half of the days, each time with a new mark near enough. He ended up opening up to me about his dad Neil which broke me.
I tried to avoid him at school though, to save answering unwanted questions although he occasionally came over to me and threw his arm over my shoulders which made the girls give me evil glares.

It was Tina's halloween party tonight and Steve was on his way to pick me up.
I pulled on a white mini dress some angel wings and a fluffy halo a quick no effort needed costume.
I heard a pip outside and rushed to the car already late.
" wow you look amazing " Steve said
" you don't look to bad yourself " I smiled back
We arrived and Steve quickly wondered off, I met Nancy in the kitchen who poured us both a drink of whatever concoction was in the punch bowl.

" 3,2,1 " Nancy said as we both gulped down the drink.
" ok Im gonna regret that " Nancy laughed
" me too but it won't stop me having another " I laughed back pouring another drink.
We heard cheering and seen Billy approach Steve but the conversation was we short before they both walked off.
We drank some more and spoke in the kitchen before she left to find Jonathan.

I walked into the lounge where the music was blasting and there was a sea of bodies.
I noticed Billy dancing with a brunette girl and I won't lie I was enraged with jealousy.
" do you want to dance " Jason called out
I grabbed his hand and lead him in sight of Billy and started dancing with him.
I could feel Billy's eyes on me, he walked over and grabbed my arm pulling me into the bathroom.
