Mikayla pours lucky charms cereal into a glass bowl before going to the fridge to obtain the milk. She pours some into the bowl and puts it back, then picks up her bowl.

"You know, I have more than cereal in there." her little sister speaks up from her spot at the island counter.

"I know." the older brunette slurps the milk from the spoon. "I just prefer cereal." she then says, grinning at her sister sarcastically.

"Yeah, I did not miss that about you." the athlete sighs and focuses back on her task.

Mikayla rolls her eyes and laughs softly, her eyes trailing into the living room where her daughter and husband are cuddling on the couch while watching Stranger Things. The woman has been trying to get into the show but just doesn't find herself interested.

She hates that too because she's been trying to find something she and Nohea could bond over but she always falls short.

Clearing her throat, the brown-eyed woman goes to take a seat next to her sister. "Whatcha doing?"

"Trying to find some date ideas for Cher and I." Toni sighs. "Nothing so far."

"Well, maybe that's because it has to mean something. You can't just take her on any ole date. The environment has to match the romance. I say you just stay back here, watch a movie, and order takeout. You have a balcony, right? Grab your laptop, watch the movie under the stars or something."

"What did they do to my big sister?" Toni looks at her older sister in faux concern.

Mikayla rolls her eyes with a chuckle, her spoon stirring her cereal. "I've just been...deprived of that type of stuff for almost a year and sometimes more. It sorta turns you into a romantic."

"Oh, now I know the sex is good." giggles the younger brunette. Mikayla pushes her shoulder gently while laughing. "I hate you."

"Honestly, is it really?" Mikayla gives her younger sister the look and Toni bursts out laughing. "Damnnnn, you lucky bitch."

"What? Ms. Top notch model isn't giving you none?" it's Mikayla's turn to tease, a mouth full of cereal.

"One: Now I see where Hea gets that from. And two: No. And I'm fine with that. Our relationship is authentic and built on trust. I will never rush her into something she isn't ready for. Like last week I told her that I love her—" she stops when Mikayla nearly chokes on her cereal.

Toni instant reaches for a napkin from the roll on the rack beside her. "T—Thanks," her big sister utters and accepts the tissue. "Y–You told her what now?!"

Toni rolls her eyes. "It's not like that...well it is–but— look I've known her for 3 years, ever since I joined the team. We were somewhat friends for so long and we flirted here and there. I caught feelings, and sometimes those feelings progress into something deeper, even if we weren't together then."

"Okay..." Mikayla approves rationally. "And did she say it back?"

"No..." the brunette replies and Mikayla gives her that protective older sister look. "She said she wasn't ready and I understand that, Kayla. There is nothing to be worried about. Cheryl is nothing but amazing to me, okay? She's always telling me how beautiful I am. She gives me the best hugs and kisses ever. She's amazing. You don't even know her as I do but yet you're so quick to judge."

"What do you mean 'so quick to judge?' I'm just trying to protect you." her sister shoots back.

"Protect me from what? Love? I get it, Kayla. I know you've seen me go through hell and back when it comes to relationships and dating, or–whatever–but Cheryl isn't like everyone else I've been with. Did you know the moment I told her about my situation she immediately told me that she only liked me for me?"
