Arm's P.O.V

"Sawatdee krub. Welcome to our book store.", I wai to the customer who just came in. Looking at her clothing code, she must be a university student.

Sometimes I envy watching them wearing a university uniform. Everyday,  watching them passing by our store. I really wish I could wear one someday. Unfortunately I couldn't. I have to work to earn money so I can pay for my younger brother's school fees.

I lightly slap my side face with my both hands. Trying to get myself together. Take a deep breath. I have to remind myself. If I can't continue my study, then my brother have to. Even if it's not for the sake of me, but it's for the sake of his own future.

In the afternoon, oftentimes there are not much customers. Sometimes there will be no customer come and today there's none. I took the opportunity to take times rearrange all the books back to it's order while waiting for my co-worker to change shift with me on 1pm for lunch break. Neat and organized.

"Excuse me."

Suddenly someone talk from my behind. I turned around to see there's a tall, good-looking young male standing behind me. I was stunned for a moment. Is he a student from the university nearby?

"Krub? How can I help you?", I asked with a smile.

The guy smiled back. "Mm.. I was actually trying to find a book but I couldn't find one.", he paused for a sec. "I don't know what book to read actually.", he awkwardly smiled while rubbing the side of his neck.

He looked back at me. "Can you recommend me any book that is suitable to read on free time?"

I stared at him. I think every book is suitable to read on free time. Isn't that what people always do? Oh well..

"Is it okay?", He said.

I smiled and nodded. "Sure. What kind of book do you usually read?"

I saw he was like thinking. He frowned a little. I lift one of my eyebrow, waiting for him to answer me.

"Err.... Do you have any that you can recommend?", He asked.

"Huh?", I questioned.

This guy.. have he ever read anything before?

"I mean.. can you give me any books that people always buy here? And I'm sure you know which one is good.", He said.

I nodded. "I see. Of course there are many of them. I'll get them for you."

After a few minutes I came back to him who was standing near the counter. I handed the book to him.

"Here. This book is good. I personally love this one.", I said.

"You love reading?", He asked.

I nodded. "Just, not that often."

"I see. But, you must've read a lot of book, right? Then, can I come to again after I finish this one? I'll asked for another book recommendation."

I smiled. "Sure. Our shop is always open."

I hand over a paper bag with the book in it. "Thank you for buying. Please come again."

"Krub."

I watched him walking out of the store.

Two days later..

It was afternoon and as usual not many customers come in the store. I was busy writing something on the book record, when suddenly someone greeted me.

"Sawatdee krub."

I lift my head up. "Sawadee krub."

I frowned. "You...", I paused. The same guy from two days ago!

"Yes. It's me."

"I remember.", I replied. "So, have you finished reading the book?"

He smiled. "Yeah. Just like you said, it's so good that I managed to finish it quickly."

"Glad you like it.", I said.

He smiled. "So..", he paused and looked me straight into my eyes. "Can you recommend me another book?"

.
.
.

"Thank you. I'm so excited to read it.", He said.

"I hope you will like it."

"I will.", He replied. "By the way, I haven't know your name yet."

"Yes?", I paused. He was just looking at me with a smile curved on the corner of his mouth. "Oh. My name is Arm."

"Arm. I'm Pol.", He said. I just nod.

"Eh, P'Pol."

I turned to see the person who will take over my shift on the afternoon came to greet Pol.

"Hey, Porchay."

"Chay. You guys know each other?", I asked. Curious.

"Yes, P'Arm.", Porchay replied. "What are you doing here phi?"

"Buying book.", The guy named Pol answered. I saw Porchay frowned at his answer.

"What? Do you think a guy like me don't read books?", Pol said. "I know what you're thinking."

Porchay roll his eyes. "Okay. Okay. Read whatever you want.", He said then shake his head. "I still can't believe my eyes. If I tell my brother about this he will laugh his ass off."

"Er.. how's your brother? He didn't contact me that often lately.", Pol asked. I just watching them talking to each other. I don't want to interrupt since I don't know anything. That will be rude.

"He's fine. I just talked to him last night. He said he'll be back to Thailand in two months if possible.", Porchay replied.

"Erm. Good. How about you? I'm sorry I couldn't come to see you often.", Pol said.

They must be close talking like this. Friends? Relatives?

"I'm fine P'Pol. I understand you're busy.  Don't worry.", he said.

"Er. Okay.", Pol said. He glanced at his watch. "I have to go now. I'll see you around na Chay."

"Er. Just go."

Pol shifted his eyes to me. "Thank you once again Arm. I'll come again."

I nodded. "Your welcome."

After Pol go, Porchay suddenly approach me. "I didn't know you and P'Pol know each other."

"Huh?", I blank. "Oh. I just know him. He came by two days ago."

"Really?", Porchay looks confused, which maked me more curious.

"Why?", I asked.

"Nothing. I mean, I've known him since he was in grade eight and always come to my house to play with my big brother. He's just not that type of person who likes reading. All I see he played basketball or was just staying in my brother's room playing video games.", he said.

"Really?", I asked. Porchay nodded.

Then, if he doesn't likes reading why did he came to buy books?

Ugh! Whatever.
