"Let's give an applause for our newly elected club president!!"
My smile was so wide; I could feel the curves of my lips. I succeeded in being a part of media club. My happiness knew no bounds. I found my belonging in this place; I can spend anytime I want.
I glanced at the ticking clock hung on the opposite wall. It was already 6 and dusk had fallen.
SUDDENLY, I was taken aback by a knock on the door.As I paused my work, and looked towards the door, the knock grew more louder and desperate.
Slowly, I tip toed to the door, only to be surprised upon seeing you standing outside. He signalled me to open the door and his face looked helpless. As I opened the door, he quickly rushed inside.
"What are you-"
He cupped his hand on my mouth and dashed me down with him. We soon heard footsteps walking towards us and as it grew nearer, I could see the beam of light flashed across the room; it was the watchmen.
"Who's there?!!" the Watchmen cried across the hall. I quickly stood up and opened the door.
"Good evening! I'm working late. Here's my ID for this club."
He checked over and nodded. "Have you seen a boy running across here? I'm sure he came this way"
I could see you begging with your eyes to not tell him the truth. You looked so desperate that it made me wonder what the reason was.
"I'll let you know, if I happen to see anything strange." I assured the watchman.
Well, it was already strange to run into you here. It's as if you always show yourself up to me.
The Watchmen walked away, warning me that it was almost time for me to leave as well.
I was so nervous that I couldn't have the courage to ask you for an explanation. For a minute or so, I stood there, watching you carefully examining the camera you held.
"Thank you. You saved my day." he smiled brightly, his eyes filled with relief. "You've joined this club? I hope you'll have fun working here." He extended his handshake.
Being someone who just watched you from behind and admiring without you knowing, I was left blank when you appeared right before me without notice, addressing me personally.
"Nice to meet you. But may I ask why you were being chased?"
You started laughing at my question; half embarrassed and half contended.
"You might not have idea, but the view from our school terrace is really worth watching. It comes second in capturing the view after the tallest tower here in our town. Actually I was waiting for the shot, but you see" he shrugged his shoulders "I got caught."
"Ahh, I see , that's .." I replied unsurely.
"Hey, since you have the ID, shall we sneak together to the terrace? I promise I'll be quick." He gave an expected look.
My heart skipped a beat as you uttered those words and looked intently at me awaiting my answer. I was unsure, but I guess I didn't want to regret saying no.
You were telling the truth.
It was beautiful.
How come you know of such beautiful places that's as beautiful as you.....
I wondered how beautiful must be the world inside of you; for you to be able to see beauty in everything around..."Here." I felt the warmth swarming within, as you gently placed your jacket over me. "I'll be done soon."
Your soft scent mesmerized my soul as I held your jacket closer to me, while you walked at the edge of the terrace with the camera positioned across your perfect frame. I couldn't decide if I was enjoying the glittering lights of the city or watching you shine under the sliver moonlight.
And I guess, that was the beginning of us taking a step closer towards each other.
