The New Girl In Town

Graces POV ~

Me and my father were driving down the road and then I saw the sign that read "Welcome to Hawkins"

Ive been here before when I was little but haven't been since, apparently some shit went down...

My father decided that after my mom left his abusive ass that it was time for a change so we moved to Hawkins, Indiana all the way from New York. Kinda a big change for me but at least I get to see my cousins I haven't seen in forever now!

My cousin Nancy and me are only a few months apart so we are very close while my younger cousins Mike and Holly are still in elementary and middle school. Me and Nancy are very close and have missed each other dearly.

~time skip~

I watched at we pulled up to the new house in the new town I'd call "mine". Don't get me wrong I like the house and love my family...most of them at least. But this is a new place for me and I am just scared for what's to come in the future.

I stepped out of the car to see my Uncle Ted, Aunt Karen, and cousins Mike, Holly, and Nancy!!! I practically ran over to them giving quick hellos and hugs then almost tackling Nancy down to the ground in a hug!!

I missed her so much it wasn't even funny. She definitely grew up since I last saw her she was hot to be honest she must have all the boys all over her!

"Oh my gosh! I've missed you all so much! How are you?!" I said to everyone

"Great! Just getting through the world day by day." My aunt reply's

"So glad your out new neighbor! Nance says

"Me too!" I tell her

~ another time skip ~

♡(Monday the first day of senior year)♡

I hopped out of the car in my beetles t-shirt and brown straight jeans with some black high top converse shoes.

I thought my outfit was cute yet normal and doesn't make me stand out from the crowd. I've never been the pretty girl or the popular girl. I was the one who sat in the back of the classroom with a sketchbook in hand zoning the entire class period out.

I never had many friends maybe 2 but they didn't feel real. Nancy was all I had now.

"Hey Nance, who's this?" A tall boy with might I say amazing hair said with a pair of sunglasses on

"This is my cousin, Grace. She just moved here from New York with her dad."

"Nice to meet you!" I say to the handsome boy

"Im Steve by the way!"

"This is my boyfriend I was telling you about Grace." Nancy says

My smile fades down a bit because I thought he was kinda cute but hey who cares Nancy scored on him, I'll find one of my own.

We all walk into the school together but for some reason all eyes turn to us. I was very confused but then I remembered Steve is like the king of the school here.

They all looked towards Steve then their eyes moved to me! ME!

I was freaking out mentally I wanted to have a panic attack right there on the spot and just crawl into a ball and die.

Everyone eventually found something better to do and moved their eyes from me so I felt way better. But then came first period...

I walked in only to see one spot open between two grungy looking boys that were actually quite attractive making me kinda freak out.

Because it feels like little ugly old me is gross compared to all these other girls here, why would anyone want me?

I walk over to the boys and sit in between them and introduce myself.

"Hi I'm Grace, I just moved into town." I said with a tiny smile.

The one with a dirty blonde mullet and denim jacket turned to me with a smirk on his face looking me up and down.

"Billy Hargrove, pleasure to meet you pretty lady." He said with a wink

I felt uneasy, a boy? Thinks I'm pretty?!

Then the other boy next to me with long dark hair a t-shirt that said "Hellfire Club" on it and quite the rings with a literal tattoo on his forearm of bats then turns to me

"Sup I'm Eddie leader of Hellfire." He says with excitement in his voice.

"I like your shirt." Eddie says to me pointing to the beetles album logo.

"Thanks" I reply with a wide smile.

~ the lesson has started ~

We are still in first period which is biology and we had to take notes so I took the opportunity to instead of take notes draw. I began to sketch out a girl and then drew tape over her mouth that says silence because it's how I feel half the time.

Not sure who drew this but it's amazing!

Then at the end of class I see both boys peek over and their eyes widen

"Holy shit!" Eddie says.

"That looks fucking amazing, your really good." Billy adds.

I just nod with a small thanks and shove my book in my bag and the bell rings signaling for second period thank god!

I run out quickly to math which I have with Steve and Nancy! I sat near both because in this class it's single desks and begin the work I am assigned.

Now it's time for lunch. The part I'm most scared for.

All those people in one area looking, talking, staring.

I walked in and then they all turned towards me...the new girl in town.
