Chapter 6: With Two Friends and Two More

It's September 12, Thursday. Today, the professors of all media and art courses are on a general meeting, so Jake and all the other students from the Media and Arts Department have no classes.

Right now, Jake's just staying in his dorm since morning, working his ass off on his school works. See, in college, even though your day's free, you still need to spend your most of your time studying, researching, finishing projects, etc. How exhausting. (Totally not an author's rant)

Jake was just compiling the rest of his projects this noon while his annoying (not really but Jake thought so) roommate Drew was fixing his things since he had classes. He was humming an unbearable tune while stupidly taking his things to put in his stupid backpack so he could finally get the heck out of this hell of a room.

(That was just Jake exaggerating and he totally wasn't thinking about how sweet his humming is, how gracefully and neatly Drew fixes his things in his cool neon magenta backpack, and why oh why did Drew have to leave so soo-)

Anyways!

Drew seemed to be in a really good mood today, and of course, Jake knows why.

Ever since Drew finally found his books and schedule at one of his unused backpacks, Drew became outright annoying. No, really. He was acting all chummy and sugary sweet since this morning. He was all like:

"Hey, Jake! Good morning! I brewed some coffee, would you like some? These coffee beans are imported and a bit expensive, I think you'd like them!"

"Did you know I found my books and schedule earlier while I opened my other backpack? I'm so happy, but I should have placed them somewhere I could find them easily next time. I should really keep track of my stuff..."

"Henry and Liam texted me earlier and you guys have no classes today, huh? Well, I guess that's why you're not getting ready for your classes..."

"I heard they're going to hang out today. Aw, I wish I could tag along, but I have so much to do..."

"Sorry if I'm talking a bit too much, I'm just in a good mood today, hehe!" 'A bit too much?'

Drew was all this and that just this morning before he went to his morning classes. He said this all with an adorab- annoying smile.

And Drew just talked casually to Jake as if they were still friends, but every time Drew talks, Jake was still ignoring him. What did Drew expect? Jake is still mad at him.

You give the silent treatment to someone you don't like.

But despite that, Drew must have been doing his best efforts to show Jake he really changed and is willing to make it up to them, and maybe, hopefully, restore their unfinished friendship.

Drew knows it's still not over for them.

But with Jake?

He's still being a stubborn ass, of course!

He decided (and with Sean's influence) to quit messing with Drew and just completely ignore his existence for the rest of the year. It's easy for Jake, since he's used to doing that to him for two years in high school. Besides, he knew he already cut off his ties with Drew ever since that day. Ever since Drew still pushed Jake to say all those terrible things about the club, till they argued.

Jake knows there's nothing much Drew could do to win back his trust anyway. The moment Drew called him a freak, it's over. Only a miracle could fix things between them. And Jake swears to Luni, if that ever happens, he's going to break his own expensive watch his dad gave him for his birthday.
