FREEDOM NEVER COMES ON ITS OWN, YOU WORK FOR IT ~ Chris Landon.
CHRIS LANDON
I fell flat on my bed still thinking about her, I don't know why she made it seem like I should know her last night but she did look so pretty and small. I smiled. While still thinking about her, my phone rang and it was just that one person I dreaded the most. Mom!
"Hello ma'am." I said
"Your work is done, now you can return." She said like I was some robot. She is so far away and can't get to me, besides, I can't keep being scared of her.
"I'm afraid not, I still have a lot to settle here thanks to you. They suffered a great loss and won't let me off the hook. Till then, I can't return." I replied her hoping that would be enough excuse to stay back.
"Just pay them off and come back." She said.
"Oh! They don't want that, we are negotiating on how to take responsibility, till then mom!" I replied her firmly.
"I'd send Anna over!" She said and hung up.
I facepalmed myself in frustration, just not Anna. I know she was crazy but how could she hang up without getting a response, not that my opinion mattered though.
Anna is that one girl she had been forcing on me for years. In papers she was my fiancée not that she was interested either but who dared go against my psychopath of a mother.
She just wanted an eye here with me and believed Anna would do the job because she was supposed to be her spy. She was just crazy, she isn't as smart as either of us.
Since Anna would be coming over though, I had better go shopping in preparation for clubbing and the next few years I'd be spending in New York. I should consider buying a house.
-*-
Shopping went great, although I hate shopping. I just wouldn't dare wait to shop with Anna, it would be my greatest regret. One more thing I'd regret was if I had gone shopping without getting her anything.
My phone rang and just as expected, it was Anna.
"Hey Fiancé!" she screamed on the other side of the phone. I really love this woman, she is just so carefree.
"Oh please! I know you arrived at the hotel already, I'd come pick you up at the lobby." I told her and hung up.
I knew Anna enough to tell what she was scheming, she'd prank me to the airport for no reason and spend the rest of the night laughing at my pissed self.
Nice try!
I changed into a pair of shorts from what I just got and went to the lobby to get her. She was chatting away with a real handsome man, I hesitated for a moment not wanting to ruin her chance of a good night.
"Oh darling, there you are!" she said in her high pitched voice the moment she caught sight of me, embarrassing the crap out of me.
To think I wanted to let her have her very nice talk.
"Welcome!" I replied her, she just smiled and dumped her bags for me to carry.
"Witch!" I yelled behind her and all I got was a mocking laughter from her. I had the bell boy help me with the bags while I followed.
"Woooow! This is heaven Chris, it's no wonder you don't want to leave." She said admiring my suite. She went straight for the mini bar and poured herself a drink while I snuck a hundred dollars in the bell boy's hand.
"Your name please?" I asked him
"Drey." He replied with a smile and left.
I watched Anna sit comfortably on the bar stool with her legs crossed as she enjoyed the soothing taste of the wine.
*Smiles*
"You packed up so quickly." I said trying to engage a topic while I arranged the stuffs I got earlier today.
"Oh please, your mom would skin me alive if I dared say no." she replied making her way to me as she caught sight of shopping bags.
"I thought you were her favorite." I teased knowing how much she disliked my mom. I mean who wouldn't?
"She loves me and we both know that, but one more thing we know, it's that she is craaazzzy!" She replied.
I smiled at her words, it's been a while I saw her and missing her would be an understatement of the century.
She sat gracefully on the bed picking up a lingerie with the tip of her fingers while giving me a sweet yet surprised look. She wiggled her brows in a teasing manner and believe me, I know what she was thinking.
"It's yours, there is no she." I told her smiling.
Her eyeballs looked like they were going to fall off as her eyes widened in surprise.
"No freaking way. I totes love this! You rock man." She said in excitement which encouraged her to dig deep into my stuffs. With every clothing she saw that belong to her, there was a scream.
"Ain't I the best Fiancé?" I teased.
She stared at me like I was dumb or maybe insane and said "The best? Darling you are way beyond best."
All I could do was laugh at her craziness and accept a peck as a thank you for all I got.
"I hope the clubs around here are lit cos I'd be hitting all one at a time." She said walking out of the room to probably refill her cup.

Hilda and Fiona probably got tired of watching me brood all day thanks to Chris' amnesia or whatever. Eight years, eight whole years, who could have expected I'd be met with this?
If he doesn't remember me, or Hilda or Fiona, did he forget every other person as well? It was driving me crazy.
When I heard his name last night, I couldn't describe the joy I felt. It was him, same name, same face, just much more matured, was I the one who changed way too much?
"You know thinking for years doesn't change anything." Fiona stated but I only ignored her.
She knew what it was like for me when he suddenly left, I felt all alone in the world.
"Khloe it's fine, with time things would get clearer." Hilda tried consoling me.
"How would anything get clear when he doesn't even care about my existence. I spat on him today, you think he would want to see me ever again?" I asked Hilda in reply.
My eyes were starting to get ready for the umpteenth time today. Each time I talked about it, those tears just appear like they've been waiting for this chance. I didn't cry when he left, yes I sulked but I didn't cry. Who knew those tears were waiting for this moment, this day.
"I suddenly feel like hitting the club tonight. Why not let's all go?" Fiona proposed but I wasn't in for that tonight. A club is not the best place for tears.
"You girls have fun." I said.
"Not just us, you included. Now stop crying and let party." Hilda said already dancing.
I sighed but managed to drag feet up and get ready.
