IT'S SCARY, I WANT TO STOP! I REALLY WANT TO BUT MY HEART KEEPS LONGING ~ Chris Landon.

CHRIS LANDON
I entered the company with several eyes on me, they all whispered among themselves, obviously, they were gossiping about me. It's not like I did anything wrong, instead, I was going to hold a press conference for their company's benefit.

Ignoring the gossips, I went straight for Khloe's office, she was making a call when I walked in, one which ended almost immediately.

"Hey, what's with the face?" I asked her cheerfully.

"Nothing, are you sure this is going to work out fine?" She asked worriedly and I nodded, assuring her.

She seemed to be really scared and I understand, one wrong move and my mom's fans will be all over the place tarnishing the name of their company, and she will have to take the fall for it.

"If anything goes south, I'd employ you" I joked, luckily she got the joke and smiled as well.

The room was parked with loads of reporters and some employees who had been waiting for our arrival.

"That's him? I wish he wasn't so handsome so I could hate him" I heard someone say as I walked in. Was that it? They hate me? But why?

"Looks like I'm not very much liked in here" I whispered in Khloe's ear.

"What do you expect? So much stress and loss since the book issue. It's just natural" she replied.

I decided I had to make it right and it's now or never. I walked up to the set platform and took my seat as cameras flashed and reporters murmured among themselves.

They hit me with tons of questions, a lot I couldn't respond as the book wasn't mine but I tried hard not to give that away.

"Are you saying it's all on you?" A reporter asked in reply after I had said that the company had no fault, after all it was me who insisted not to make any changes.

"I feel the content of the book matters, if these people really are my fans and are so sure of my work, they wouldn't care about the book cover looking so dull. For me, I feel it's best matched with my message and I would have appreciated if my fans had trusted me on that." I replied her.

It was silent for a while, maybe they were trying to digest what I had said but then, someone spoke again.

"You are blaming it all on the fans then." It felt like they just wanted to put the blame on someone, they just wanted someone to take the responsibility for the short failure of the book.

"I'd have appreciated better reviews on my books instead of throwing shades and trying to place blames. However, if we are placing blames, I believe it should all be on me as the author for not listening to the designers. One thing I would like you to note however, is that the book is mine, I know what went through my mind when I made that, and if they actually did take time to read it, they would understand why I wanted that cover to remain" I replied.

"I did not set this up for blame placing anyways, I would just like to implore my fans to please just appreciate my work and stop trying to pull anyone down. Thank you" I added, not wanting further interrogations, I excused myself and left.

It was up to them to take what I had said or leave it. I still do not understand my mom is always so rigid and only want things going her way. If I had my way I'd have her locked up in a psychiatric hospital, she needs it.

I heard Khloe calling my name as heels clicked on the floor, I looked back to see her running towards me.

"Chris! Oh my" she said breathing heavily, trying to catch her breath from all the running.
