THE GREATEST ACT OF LOVE IS THE ONE SHOWN EVEN WHEN ANGRY ~ Chris Landon

CHRIS LANDON
I watched Khloe move here and there in my kitchen trying to make me food. Actually foods because according to her, she couldn't come over everyday to cook for me.

Just the fact that she was here with me was enough, I could have completely broken down if she also left me. Annie's death was a huge one for me and I wouldn't stop blaming myself for making her go home on my behalf.

If my mom.... no! If that woman actually killed Annie, then she is more dangerous than I ever imagined. The cops were doing everything in their power to find out the truth and here we were withholding a lot of truths that could help them all in the name of playing it safe.

I can imagine telling the cops everything, they would arrest her right away and try interrogating her but after few hours she would be freed. If she actually was behind the murder, she would try attacking us.

"You know the cops found hair in Annie's clothes, she managed to get it". I told Khloe who was busy cooking.

Her attention diverted to me immediately, the way her face lit up made me smile for the first time in days.

"How do we get it?" She asked me.

"Well, I managed to get a few strands while they weren't looking because they showed me everything they found in her car". I told her.

"Wow, we could run the test then" she replied happily.

"I want it done secretly so, can you please help me?" I pleaded with her and she just nodded.

She kept most of the dishes in my fridge and served me Rice with spicy beef sauce. Words couldn't describe how happy I was in that moment.

"How did the cops get a recording of you and Annie's  conversation?" She asked me as she watched me eat.

She had refused to eat with me claiming she was filled and just came to take care of me. She felt I needed it and indeed, I did.

"My phone was tapped the morning I came to your place with flowers. It has fallen at the flower shop and your friend Fiona had helped me with it, thinking about what you said earlier, I think she tapped my phone" I explained to her.

That day at the flower shop, I was surprised to see her especially with a baby bump. I thought I would ask Khloe about it but she wouldn't even give me reception to plead with her.

She bumped into me which made my phone fall unknown to me. I only got to know when she gave it back to me saying she had picked it up for me. I thanked her and didn't think it was polite to ask her about the pregnancy.

"You saw her baby bump? How come we never ran into her?" Khloe asked and I simply shook my head.

"I guess you changed your phone again" she asked and I nodded this time.

The rice was nice, I wasn't a fan of rice but she made it so well. I ate to my satisfaction and even had some left.

"You should eat well okay? Annie wouldn't have wanted you to starve if she was still here" Khloe reminded me,

"Sure! She would have said fill your fucking stomach with something you douche". I said agreeing with Khloe but the memories of Annie but a sad smile to my face.

"It is so sad you are leaving me too, I really am sorry Khloe".

She sighed!

"I'm not leaving you, I would help you with everything I can, to gain your memories and get to the bottom of everything but Chris, I want to try loving someone else. I've spent all my life loving you that I think I only got used to the idea of you and I. I want to break free from that". She replied.

Those words of hers which I regrettably understood broke my heart into billion tiny pieces but there was no way I was going to give up. We still have time!

"We've still got time K bear". I told her.

Nights ago, I journeyed into my past through my dreams again and remembered the nickname I had for her. I felt like my subconsciousness was trying hard to regain my memories but they keep coming in fragments.

"You remember?" She asked surprised.

"Little" I told her.

"We should see the doctor soon and get the DNA test done as soon as possible". She replied and I nodded.

With her, I would take things slowly. For her, I would try my hardest to remember our past and remind her of each one of them, that should bring her swaying heart back to me.

KHLOE DIAMOND
Work had piled up for me but Mrs. Harts was aware of everything going on so Mary's severely attempts to put me in trouble never seemed to work.

I reported to Mrs. Harts however, that Fiona had been fired from work and the replacement she sent was doing a really great job.

Despite being at home, I was able to oversee a lot of things as well as the proposal of Mr. Collins that the board accepted. It actually made a lot of sense and is selling out a lot of books.

He suggested we created an online platform where readers can buy books as either soft or hard copy. That way we don't publish in excess but on demand and readers who showed no interest in the books because they are not fans of carrying books around can easily read on their mobile phones or desktops wherever they were.

The idea sounded nice and I bought it immediately, the board members did too and the last month, this site brought us 60% increase in sales. He also signed top writers with our company, ones we had tried years to sign.

"Look who is here" I heard the ever so familiar annoying voice. Been a while she actually bothered me to my face.

I decided to ignore her but being the relentless bitch she was, she decided to talk directly to me.

"If the branch manager decides to go AWOL alongside her so called friends, what do you think the other workers would think?" She asked me to my face.

This bitch

"I don't think the branch manger needs permission from the sales manager before taking a break or approving breaks" I replied her confidently.

Right, she stood tall above my short self but I spoke with confidence. It didn't matter if her mother were friends with my boss or if her mother was a member of the board, I could fire her at will.

"Well, other workers are not satisfied with your decisions and are beginning to lag at work but of course, how would you know that?" She said.

"Miss. Mary Jordan! I would like you to note that this would be the last time you would speak so rudely to me and get away with it. The next time you do, you would have to hand in your resignation" I warned her and went my way.

Now that is how to deal with pompous, spoilt brats like her. The least I would get is a memo! No one would fire me just because I fired a worker.
