"I have just moved here, luckily CPS decided to place me with family after discovering my second cousins mother would take me. I still wished they'd looked before placing me in multiple foster homes. Oh well new town new home. Dustin is cool he's my second cousin and he plays D & D he was surprised I played it and was actually a complete nerd. Heh I guess girls aren't usually into those things. Miss Henderson is lovely to me, she didn't even know about me and still opened her heart and home to me, which is surprising seeing the taboo about foster kids as we're troubled.

I mean it ain't wrong, I am troubled. Who wouldn't be after everything I've been through?

Anyways, my name is y/n Henderson i am 18 years old I may have tad substance abuse issues and I'm only writing this as my case worker and therapist said it would help me.
I am meant to write down my trauma and that from what I can remember from my parents and such but I decided not too. Why should I look behind me? Of course I'll write down when I get flashbacks and such but yeah, this is for me not them. Anyways Dustin is saying it's time for school so yknow got to go."

I put my pen down and get ready for school, I grab my socks and put them on Dustin calling me grabbing my cassette player I slip my feet into my battered converses. I slip my headphones on listening to journey. I have the volume low so I can still hear  Dustin.

"So y/n I'll ask Eddie if you can sit at our table, I actually think you'll get along as he listens to like iron maiden and Metallica too."

I nod, "so do you all play D&D at that table?

Dustin nods excitedly "we all do, hopefully Eddie says yes as I know you even going to school is a big thing for you, well that's what mom says..." He trails off wondering if he crossed a line

I smile at him to reassure him that he didn't "she's right it is, I used to avoid it. It's not like I'm stupid it's just I was bullied so bad at my old school."

Dustin nods "I used to get bullied too, well I still do."

I look at him smiling "I mean if anyone bothers ya I can give em a whack."

Dustin laughs at me "you? Even I'm stronger than you!"

I laugh, it's good to laugh. I'm glad this kid is my cousin. "Hey! I just go easy on ya cuz your my cousin."

Dustin laughs, "sure you do! Also, we're here, you should probably go to the principals office as they'll have someone show you around." Dustin leads me to the principals office then leaves me to meet up with his friends.

I knock on the door, waiting for it to open, the principal opens it and looks me up and down and scowls, heh teachers always hate me, they think I'm good for nothing for how I dress, jokes on them I'm actually really smart.

The principal leads me in and sat down there's a girl in a cheerleader outfit and hair in a ponytail and a sweet smile. She looks nothing like me but she's clearly sweet.

"Hi! You must be y/n! I'm Chrissy!"

I give a small wave, "hi Chrissy."

The principal sat down and explained that Chrissy would be my student mentor showing me around.
He also muttered something about hoping she'd be a positive influence on me but I chose to ignore that.

After Chrissy showed me around it was lunch and Dustin caught up with me out of breath
"So I haven't asked Eddie yet as I haven't seen him so yeah I'll ask him now at lunch."

I nodded, "what if he says no?"

Dustin frowned "he won't. He'll probably say yes."

I rolled my eyes, "probably, Dustin?"

Dustin sighed, "well your not part of hellfire yet so I don't know. Anyway come on!" He drags me running to the lunch hall up to a table with his friend and some other people, at the head of the table is this cute guy, hair in a shag style brown eyes and leather jacket like mine. So that's Eddie.

Dustin rushed trying to get every out while I stood there awkwardly.
"Eddie! This is my cousin y/n Henderson she's just moved here and she also plays D&D can she sit with us?"
Eddie's eyes look me up and down and I feel really self conscious, "yknow I don't have too, there's probably somewhere else..." Eddie interrupts me.

"You sit with us. We have a spare seat." He gives me a kind smile and I look down. I sit next to Dustin and his friend Mike.

So I've met the Eddie. Huh he really is something. Definitely cute.
