▀▄▀▄Bethany POV▄▀▄▀

It didn't take long for Ithil to join me outside of the ball, letting me lead her to the more abandoned part of the palace. Like she said, if we wanted to dance, we couldn't be seen. At least not by my mother.

Soon we made our way to the library. No one would be here tonight, bonus points for me. I took the matches off the librarian desk, lighting one of the candles to provide us more light then the moon gave us.

Once I was done, I put out the fire from the match. Turning around, I have just noticed Ithil's eyes. They were watching me carefully, taking in the sight of my light purple gown.

When she returned her gaze to my eyes, she extended her hand, waiting for me to hold it. The fact that the gentle music could be heard all the way here only made the moment better. Like if it was from a fairytale.

I gently put my hand in hers, letting her lead the dance. Our heartbeats could be heard through the soft music surrounding us. Making me more then glad to have a friend like her on my side.

I was looking into her eyes, admiring the graceful beast hiding behind them. A beast ready to strike to protect her loved ones, dressed as a youthful, gentle woman. At least that's what I saw in her eyes. The ones that are normally dark, not allowing people to see through them, were now lighter, with a storm inside of them.

I moved my head to her shoulder, letting my body relax and my eyes close as we danced, ignoring the cold around us. It was just the two of us, two souls who lost someone close to them. For her it was her beloved Father, for me, it was my first love.

I couldn't be happier, she loved me and I loved her. There was nothing able to separate us. At least nothing except ourselves. We met at the market, I always loved it there. The happiness most of us got to feel at least there, happy chattering could be heard together with children's laughter.

And there she was, helping her mother with the boxes. I never expected to fall in love with someone from the kingdom, but it happened. At least it felt like it. Until she tried to hurt me. To do things I never wanted her to.

I only got out from my daydreaming when I noticed Ithil has stopped dancing, and we were now standing still, holding each other. Looking down at me, she had a worried expression plastered on her face. How long was I zoned out?

"I think we should go back.,, I whispered after a few seconds of silence, only now realizing the music has stopped completely.

Ithil softly nodded as she let go of me and took a step back before making her way to the door.

"Enjoy the rest of the night Miss Madden.,, She said and gave me one last smile as she was closing the door behind her. I followed close behind, not daring to break the silence. It was a comfortable silence, not needed to be broken. It didn't take long for us to reach the door to the main hall. Which meant we had to separate for tonight. But I didn't mind, I had a good time and there was nothing I regretted about it.
