Chapter 8 | In each other's arms again

The moment the phoenix heard someone say his name, it was like the sound stuck in his throat. The sound of the flute fell silent. Wei Ying's heartbeat quickened within moments. The old memories swept him away as he slowly lowered his hand. As Wei Ying turned around, one of the most beautiful memories of his past; - when the dragon boy first looked at him, - became one with his present.

Wei Ying's gaze finally met the person opposite him. 

The hope that had been in his heart, now filled his eyes, and it flowed down his face like tears of joy when he saw Lan Zhan's face. A smile flashed across Wei Ying's tear-stained face, and then, as if he had just taken wing, he ran up to the motionless dragon and hugged him tightly.

But Lan Zhan did no different and wrapped his arms around the phoenix. Lan Zhan felt the same infinite happiness as Wei Ying. He can finally feel the warmth of the phoenix again, hear his laughter and see the smile that has stolen his heart.
