Chapter 20 | Always in my head

Lan Zhan ran down the corridor and hurried down the stairs. Meanwhile, Yanli was waiting excitedly for him and Xichen was standing at the porch door. She expected Xichen to immediately tell Lan Zhan first the news she had shared with him. No sooner had Lan Zhan stopped in front of Yanli than he began to question her.

"Yanli, ... please confirm this. Is Wei Ying really resurrected?" asked Lan Zhan excitedly.

"Yes, .. my brother is back! A-Ying is alive again! .. Shen Yue told me, but she asked me to wait here for dad." replied Yanli joyfully, wiping her tearful eyes again.

"And where is Wei Ying now? I want to see him! .. I promised him I'd be there for him when he returns." said Lan Zhan impatiently.

"Lan Zhan, calm down. Even though Wei Ying has risen, he still needs some rest now." said Xichen, trying to calm his brother down.

"Please be lenient with us. Let Lan Zhan go in to see him." said Yanli first.

"But what if your father finds out about this?" asked Shen Yue, after a moment of silence.

"Don't worry about that. I'll talk to father about it. You won't have a problem with this." reassured Yanli.

"Okay." Shen Yue stepped aside to let the dragon into the room.

"Thank you very much, Shen Yue." said Lan Zhan.

"You don't have to thank me for anything, Lan Zhan. Just take care of him like your life."

"I will do so."

"And, ..." - Shen Yue stopped when Lan Zhan took the doorknob. - "...if anything happens to him, you'll let me know right away, okay?"

Lan Zhan nodded in agreement. Shen Yue and Yanli left while Lan Zhan opened the door, then entered the room and closed it quietly. His eyes went straight to the bed where Wei Ying was resting peacefully. Lan Zhan walked slowly and quietly to the phoenix. He never took his eyes off his belove for a moment. When he reached the bed, he sat down on the edge and gently held Wei Ying's hand.
