Chapter 1

Steve Harrington has always been completely and utterly sure of his sexuality. He likes boobies. It's really always been that simple. He doesn't understand why now, in the middle of all of this Vecna shit, he has to find himself lost on Eddie 'The Freak' Munson of all people. But he was.

Completely lost. They were able to rescue Nancy from Vecna and were using his always vacant home as kind of a home base of sorts. Plans were in the works and everyone was trying to stay calm in the face of the world ending. They didn't know if El was going to show up, but they'd gotten word from Mike that she was working on getting her powers back. So silver lining there he supposed. However Steve was sitting on the couch staring at Eddie.

Watching him. Wondering why he couldn't take his eyes off of him.
It has started slowly, his fascination with Eddie. From the moment Eddie held a broken beer bottle to his neck Steve couldn't figure him out. Yes he knew him in high school. He was even sure that he bullied him. Called him names that he wouldn't dare say today. Eddie smiles at something Dustin says and their eyes meet. Steve doesn't look away and Eddie furrows his eyebrows at him. Steve blinks and looks down not wanting to freak out Eddie with his creepy staring. When he thinks that Eddie has looked away he lifts his eyes and looks through his lashes. Fuck, why does he have to be so...pretty? Steve lets out a breath and looks around for Robin.

"You okay there Stevie?" Eddie says just as Steve starts to pass him. Steve just nods and finds Robin with her head close to Nancy laughing. This feels less like a planning session and more like a sleep over.

"Robin...uh...can I talk to you?" Steve asks. Robin looks up at him slightly confused.

"In...uh..private?...please?" he says and he's hoping she can see the panic in his eyes as he nods his head towards the stairs. Robin nods and follows him to his room. Once inside he closes the door.

"I think Nancy actually likes me now!" she says with her usual Robin brand of excitement.

"That's great but I'm having a bit of a gay panic over here and I need my bff so...help?" He blurts out with his eyes wide.

"Wait whaaaaaaaaat?" she yells but the grin on her face makes him grin and remember why he went to her in the first place. "Not Steve 'The Hair' Harrington...Not King Steve!?" she claps and puts her hands up to her face.

"Yes...me..I...shit. Okay so here's the thing. I like girls right? But I..well I also kind of like Eddie.." he winces a little waiting for her explosion.

"Holy shit! Wait...Eddie?" she practically screams and Steve slaps his hand over her mouth.

"Goddamn it Robin! Do you want him to hear you?" he whisper yells. "Yes Eddie. Look it's been....brewing over the last few days and I've thought a lot about it and I just wanted to ask since you know more about this shit than me but like...is that normal? Or...am I wrong? I mean it could just be a trauma thing right? He's just around...and funny...and has zero clue what personal space is...and...his hair...oh god and his rings..." he rubs his face and then looks at her again. "I like girls..love girls...never even had a single problem with girls and now...now?" he throws his hands up.

"Steve...Steve...it's fine. Look you can like both. It's a thing and it happens okay? You aren't wrong or abnormal." Robin nods and reassures him. She also grins because it's obvious that he's a goner for the metalhead downstairs.

"Does he even like guys?" he asks softly. It would really suck to have a thing for a guy that wasn't at all interested.

Robin just smiles. "Trust me. He likes guys."
Steve nods and takes a deep breath. Okay. He can like both. Good. Robin gives him a hug and tells him she's going back down stairs since he seems to have the answer he needed. He flops on his bed and sighs. This isn't the time to start anything with anyone if he doesn't even know that they are all gonna make it. But he tells himself that he'll be open with Eddie. Maybe not completely confession level open but he'll put on the Steve Harrington charm and he won't let himself or anyone make him feel bad about going for what he wants.
