When breakfast ended, we were immediately told to head to the "conference" room a few buildings over from this one, in which everyone groaned.

It wasn't really a conference room, it was really just another practice room. But the school — Basil and Nala — were so fucking paranoid that some other secret agency would be listening in to our conversations through hidden speakers, which resulted in why we had to use code words.

While lazily sauntering down the hallway and out the double-doors with the rest of the mumbling crowd, an irritating voice that I've still not grown accustomed to comes from behind me.

" 'Sup, Rai!" An accented and very annoying voice chirps, before a grinning Maxi appears and throws an arm around my neck, tugging me down, causing me to grit my teeth in irritation.

Which was extremely deceiving, actually, considering she was at least 5"0 and I was 6"4. You see, Maxi was basically a tomboy. She was also a lesbian, and dressed in baggy jeans/bottoms and sweatshirts most of the time. Or just men's clothing that was obviously way too big on her.

But right now, she was wearing nude cargo shorts, a black over-sized shirt, with a faded skull on the front, and black SnapBack backwards on her head.

"Let go of me, you crazy bitch." I grunt, trying to release my poor neck and head from her grasp.

"Nah." She grins widely, shaking her head.

"Thomson, get the hell off me, before I remove your arms from your body." I growl at her, struggling to pull her off of me, as we reached the building where the training room was located.

"Ugh," she grunts, un-looping her arm from mine and walking next to me, with a frown on her face. "You're boring."

"No, I'm just sane, unlike you." I say monotonously, not looking down at her.

"Anyways," she blurts, punching me in my arm — hard. "Who was that new girl at your table? Pretty cute, huh, isn't she, chum?"

Yep. She was definitely bipolar.

"No." I say emotionlessly, shoving the door open, and following the other students inside. "She's aggravating."

"Rai, come on." Maxi groans, slapping my arm swiftly. "You haven't dated anyone, since–"

"Say it, and I will punch you." I tell her, my tone lowering to a deadly one.

She's silent for a moment, before she bursts, "Well, you haven't!"

"Stop talking." I say, taking a seat on the bleachers, with her following right next to me. I roll my eyes, with a sigh. "Why can't you just leave me alone?"

"Because you're my best mate." She says, sounding sincere.

But I honestly couldn't care any damn less.

"Go find your other fucking dike friends." I spit at her, glaring. I wanted to hurt her feelings, to show her that I didn't need any consolation.
