"They are coming Aziel, they are coming for us" cried the woman, in panic.
"Don't worry Catalina, i will protect her, till my last breath. Nothing will happen to her or you...we just need to stick to the plan" he whispered while caressing her tear-streaked cheeks.
" Don't say that, i need you, we need you. Promise me you will come back to me" she cried further.
" Cata-"
" PROMISE ME AZIEL!"
" I prom- "
His words were cut off by guards rushing and shouting outside their chambers. A fight broke out and war was coming." They are here" said Aziel while holding his sobbing mate, afraid of what would happen next.
They rushed to the co-joined bedroom where sat their lovely daughter, playing with an amethyst key chain her best friend gave her. They were inseparable and yet she had not seen him for 6 months. Her violet eyes, the oddest eye color that could possibly exist yet so ethereal and mesmerizing, landed on her parents who seemed extremely worried. She was in her own little bubble, a perfect world where resided princes and princesses, kings and queens where happily ever after existed but little did she know her world was far from this fairytale she always believed in.
"Mother, Father, why are you crying?" She asked.
They both rushed towards her, hugging her with all their might before Aziel carried her while holding Catalina's hand as they escaped the chambers.Violet orbs were filled with curiosity and confusion but she knew now was not the time to ask questions, so she remained quiet. She knew very well however something was wrong and something bad was going to happen. Really bad.
The three of them managed to reach the hallways of the castle, entering the kitchen while shouts, cries, the clitter clatter of swords could be heard and worse, the smell of blood invaded the castle grounds.
An old rusty door could be seen at the very back of the storage room and Aziel opened it after looking around, making sure nobody saw them. A long dark corridor stood behind that door, sending chills to the little girl but as long as her parents were with her, she felt safe. She hugged her father's neck harder, burying her face in the crook of his neck while he ran to the end of the corridor, holding on to his daughter and his wife for dear life.
Upon reaching the end however things took a dark turn. An arrow was shot, hitting Aziel's leg making him and the little girl fall. He tried getting up but he was too much in pain.
Catalina cried harder but managed to pull her daughter away.
Voices were heard. They were coming closer.
" GET THE GIRL" shouted one of them." Catalina, GO. Take her away from here, protect her"
" Aziel no!! Come on, get up we still have time"
" We don't! Take her away, i can protect myself" " GO!!"
Unwillingly, Catalina grabbed the girl and they ran till they reached outside, a forest ahead of them.
" Daddy... NO!!! mother, we have to help him" cried the little girl harder.
" Shhhh honey, it's ok, daddy is gonna be ok" catalina said, unsure of her words herself but she had to keep hoping. After all hope was all that's left and her only priority now was to bring their daughter to safety. Keeping that thought in mind, she kept running further away from the secret passage they left and managed to reach the entrance of the forest.
Meanwhile:
" Hold him. We don't want him to escape" said one of the werewolf, after struggling to keep Aziel still. After all he was stronger than all of them and could have taken them down one by one, if only he was not hurt.
